Here's what it says in the guidelines:

Burgers:
1. Double Jack
2. Jumbo Jack
3. Jumbo Jack Cheeseburger
4. Classic Buttery Jack
5. Sourdough Jack
6. Spicy Sriracha Burger

Chicken Sandwich:
1. Spicy Chicken Sandwich
2. Spicy Chicken Sandwich with cheese
Can we still order water? The guidelines were updated December 18th and it removed the wording that a cup of water is acceptable. No response from using their email. Paying the cost of a fountain drink is a deal killer.
Just got a response from the MSC. It has to be a fountain drink. Beware. I almost didn't catch that.
yep, I get a combo, but not a fan of the new spicy chicken sandwich, so I'm done.

Cannot stand their Burgers and fatty fries anymore, or even spicy chicken. No Thanks.

That food is poison anyway. Go get yourself something better.

I eat better, trust me, but being a half mile and getting 18.00 for a five dollar burger, it was o.k..
I'm done.

19,000 posts... and you couldn't check the shop guidelines?
That's not nice. We all can miss stuff.

Isn't Jack in the Box the chain MFJohnson did a whole route of once? Good thing he lived to tell about it...lol

yep, MFJ did about 50 a week, and is in good condition, he's hiking and in good health.....cast iron stomach.
I'm chuckling that Boridi who has never added anything of importance to the forum (first time I've heard that name) comes on to call me out...oh well. life goes on. Could this be another under new name, just asking for a friend.

Autocorrect is not my friend.
I can’t imagine having that stink up my car. I haven’t eaten a burger there since the early 80’s.

I do about 100 of these a month. I won't touch them until they are at least $15 but usually $18-27.

The burgers definitely stink up the car. Truly one of the nastiest burgers around. The fries are just awful as well.

I've eaten exactly two since this program started, a Sourdough Jack and a Sourdough Chicken. First and last of each.

I buy a Jumbo Jack without cheese or onion (modification), value fries and value drink. Depending on location it comes to $5.03 to $5.89. Most of the time it nets me $12-21.

As for the food, my dogs love the nasty burgers. My Belgium Malinois takes the bag, dumps it, uses her nose to toss everything aside to get to the hamburger patty, and gobbles it down, all in about five seconds.

My German Short-Haired Pointer takes the bag into his mouth and prances around the yard, showing off his prize. Then he finds a corner and eats it quietly.

My Pit Bull just rips the bag apart and devours everything in seconds. She even loves tomatoes and lettuce.

I also have a place out in the middle of nowhere where the rats and coyotes feed. Sometimes they get a treat.

So it doesn't go to waste but also doesn't go on my waist. The exception is the drinks. Sometimes I drink a small amount and sometimes I just chomp on the ice and dump the drink.

I had to recently watch the movie, Fast Food Nation, for my wellness class. Not that I'm a fast-food hamburger person, but I'm definitely not now after viewing that and watching what happens (or could happen) at a meat packing plant. So gross.

This can't be true is it? Someone ate 50 in week and is in good condition? Really, did someone eat 50 of those things? If I do one of those shops, the entire meal goes to the homeless.
MFJohnston did a route and incorporated 90 JITB shops. He posted about it. If I remember correctly, he gave the food away after the required tastings.

Those shops don't seem worth it.... The food is not reimbursed. You're getting paid ... $12 right (although I have seen the fee go as big has $15, and in rare cases $20).

I don't get it..... the food's not that good either. I don't see the appeal for this shop unless I'm missing something?
@Gooseman It's a pretty easy job and the report is short. If it's bonused to $18-23 and it's on the way for a mystery shop route I'm doing, then it's worth my time. The food's not great so I usually just take a tiny bite of the burger, eat one fry, and toss the rest into the compost bin.

I don't get it when people take it for $7... There's a shopper in my area that takes the location closest to where I live for $7 every single round...I'll get the email from the scheduler and it's the only location already assigned...
Your not missing anything, except I (used) to do them up until this month for 18.00, 1/2 mile, simple report and take a couple bites, always saying, this is the last time. The chicken is the grossest, why I stopped, but ordering the small burger for 5.00 brings in 13.00 for 5 minutes + 10 for report. I think the fries have improved, so I do eat half of the bag....

Yes, it was very sneaky of them to change a few words mid-month and delete the Sourdough Chicken Club and water without alerting us that they had changed the instructions. With the large number of JIB I shop, it was easy for me to miss the subtle change in the instructions. I discovered the changes only because this thread caused me to check the guidelines again to see if they had changed, even though they had not changed in the iSS description.

I see I have been summoned...... Yes, I have done a million of these - my record is over 30 in a day. Yes, I am very active. No, there is no #$?! way that I actually eat all the food..... The only requirement is to taste it. I've been known to spit it out....

I did eight of these last week under the new guidelines, changes I noticed:
* Gone is the awkward picture of the drive-through window.
* Added are pictures of the dumpster area, parking lot, exterior of store and specific problem areas (dirt, graffiti, etc.)
* You are expected to order a combo (which includes a fountain drink and a small - instead of value - fry). This raises the cost of doing business by $2-$3 per shop.
* Added is an option to take the temperature of the fries and burger for $1.50 if you have a meat thermometer.

The shop takes an average of an extra five to ten minutes per visit, depending on the quality internet connection I can get and the number of issues at the restaurant. (I had one with multiple broken windows, graffiti, garbage, algae, etc.) that took 25 minutes onsite.... I'm not convinced that taking the temperature readings is worth the extra $1.50 as it has to be done immediately and sticking the burger and holding it properly without destroying it before taking the food photo is awkward for somebody who might be a bit clumsy.... I've added about $5 to the minimum for which I'd touch these shops with the new requirements.

MFJohnston quote You are expected to order a combo (which includes a fountain drink and a small - instead of value - fry). This raises the cost of doing business by $2-$3 per shop. Unquote

I just looked at the guidelines and they say to order regular fries, not curly. It does not say that value fries are not allowed. It also states that a combo is acceptable but i don’t see where it is required. Every buck counts.
Around here, the small combo (w/small drink and small fry) is less expensive that ordering a sandwich, value fry and small drink separately.

I get it now.
I like that the "cycle" is now weekly instead of every four weeks and the fee goes up as the week progresses. By the weekend, they are $20-$30. At least that's what has happened in the past few weeks. Earlier in the year, they would only get that high the last few days of the four week cycle.
I do approximately 100 - 150 of these shops a month. Unlike some of you, I do not mind the food too much, but I rarely do more than the taste test. For me, local, want a free meal shops I will do for 13.00, but I will not do a run for less than 15.00 a shop. I have also done 36 in a 24 hour period before.

For the temp, I always do it, you pay 0.30 more for the fries, but make 1.20 more for 3 minutes more work. I did 19 shops today in a little under 9 hours including transportation, or a little under 30 min per location, and made 215.23 on them, or a little over 20.00 per hour.
Algae?!

I am shocked and amazed at the quantity of shops many of you do in a day, week, or month. I have not done any JIB this year, but I did around 50 last year. Stop laughing! If I did 4 in a day that was a good day. Stop laughing! So, I am shocked and amazed when I see that people have done 19 in a day, 30 in a day, 50 in a week and so forth. I can't. I don't know how you do it.
