Happy Thoughts - Fun shop memories.

My favorite shop is one that was incredibly successful and my first hotel shop and I'm probably a little sentimental about it because my Mom was with me and I miss her terribly. It was at the George Hotel in DC and we made a great weekend out of it. It was a pet friendly hotel that had a happy hour and so sitting in that hotel lobby sipping wine and seeing dogs peering out of bags with my Mom was one of my best experiences mystery shopping ever and I've not reached that high since.
Another favorite shop was at the Rainforest Cafe in Atlantic City. I had to have an alcoholic drink and a regular drink and ask about a menu item. I ended up spending more than my reimbursement, but I had a great afternoon being the only person in the bar, drinking one of my favorite wines for $4, enjoying a great meal and a fantastic bartender. That was over a year ago and I've had that same experience at least once a month until everything shut down last month. Sometimes it's the simplest things that can be the greatest things.

Interesting that you posted about the shop on social media. I've always been paranoid that doing so would catch up with me in a bad way.

I just had a reminder come up on FB. Ten years ago today I was on a shop at a destination spa outside of Tucson, in a family villa, with no requirement to report on the included food, beverages or spa treatments! Might have been the best shop of my life....definitely the most relaxing.

Well...obviously I didn't post that it was a shop or tag myself at the location. The villa had a glass wall on one side of the living room that opened up to the Catalina foothills. It was just a photo of my GF and myself in a luxurious living room that was larger than our entire house (Seriously...at the time we were living in a 650 sq. ft house) with the amazing background, saying that we were having a great vacation.

It was also 10 years ago, and one of the first pics I ever posted on FB, so cyber-stalking and MSC's being on FB was not a thing back then. I'm much mare careful about my posts these days, but will still post "vacation" shots from the areas where I'm staying.
Jenny, I have a great memory at the W Hotel there also. My 18 yo old and I were visiting my son in grad school, and we won free tickets to Dionne Warwick at a Wendy's grand opening! Wonderful concert, walked around the quiet capital, and visited the charming lobby and bar while waiting on transportation. Very cool!
