Apparently the iShopSafe shops on Presto are back for a second round!

Earlier this year, there were a whole bunch of iShopSafe covid-19 checks on various businesses that were completed on the Presto app. Most paid $10 (starting out) and reimbursed up to $3 for a small purchase (required for all locations except cell phone or bank shops).

Apparently, these are back for a "second round". I just signed up for a few on the Presto map, and they start on Monday 07/27. You get 12 hours to complete them as usual once the assignment "starts" (or once you claim them on the map if they are already "active", I suppose). Anyone else claiming any of these yet?

Do the iShopSafe assignments pay out quickly? I am mentoring someone in another city, and she asked me about the lag time on the Presto “blue” shops. I don’t see them around me, so wanted to ask here...

Are these difficult to complete with necessary pictures? The survey screen doesn’t show many question prompts (I might need to be in the immediate area to be able to see the full survey though).
@Joannabananalee I don't think they're difficult, just read through the PDF, those basically show the question prompts

@ColoKate63 I don't know what it will be like this time, but last time they paid out super quickly (3 days)
@mjt9598 @barbage just refresh or check again in another day, some of them usually open back up if others are not able to complete them in the allotted time frame

Does anyone know what the maximum is, this round?
Thanks. She is worried about paying $3 per in advance and tying up her cash for a month or more. She’s a college student, and $100 is a lot right now.

@ColoKate63 Super cool of you to be mentoring her!

Thanks! She’s got a kazillion in her area (TX) and is very attentive and meticulous, so she’s easy to assist.

Was there a limit on how many shops you could do last round? She’s fired up and wants to do 15-20/day.... :-D

Last time, I believe they allowed a max of 2, then 3, and then 3.

I'm not sure about this round. Does anyone know what the maximum is, this round?
Does anyone know how to decline them after accepting them? I grabbed some at locations that are still closed due to COVID. And though it tells me to 'decline' them if that happens, it was late at night and I thought the 'closed' on Maps was because of the time. Or do I just let the 12 hours expire?
Good question! I did not know how to do that, so I did the assignment and found something for the comments that might have helped the location to clarify its status for newbies. And, there will be newbies if uni and colleges open up soon.

Anyway, the key is to call the locations you interested in before accepting the assignments. This saves time and greatly increases your chances of being paid. Trust me. winking smiley

You could:

a) submit a report and have it rejected
b) contact anyone you know of at Presto and explain
c) get kudos for bringing this to our attention (because the shop info does not do this for us)

I submitted a 'not open' at the first one I went to which of course I won't be paid for but I have another shop at the same bank elsewhere I won't bother going to. You'd think they'd know this particular bank hasn't opened their lobbies yet. But the least effort on my part is letting it expire, though it means it will repost and someone else will be in the same situation. Sorry whoever you are!
For some locations, which were situated inside other host locations, I asked for a re-classification. [Think coffee kiosk inside grocery store and similar situations.] Instead of dinging unaware shoppers for gathering information at open places within larger host sites, they should account for this status and not hesitate to pay shoppers for their work. For the restroom questions, they could decide not to evaluate the host site's restroom because this is likely not within the control of the small location or keep the questions just in case the smaller location's customers can use those restrooms, too. I will be paid for my work, but I would like any future assignments to include or exclude various relevant details. (Dream on...)

Go in the app and click the "continue evaluation" button, then on the top right hand corner, there should be a little rectangle, I believe with green background and white person and three dots, and you click on that, and then an option will show up to delete the shop. This is a little vague, and the directions might not be exact but it's the general idea. I finished all my presto shops today so I can't test it out for exact directions but if you still need help, let me know!

These aren't difficult, per se, but a little annoying sometimes. They want pictures of the certain signs outside, social distancing signs, and hand sanitizer. It was easy for one shop I did yesterday, there was sanitizer outside while I was waiting in line to go inside. It was a little awkward today when the sanitizer was just inside the store. I managed to get a picture quickly (turn the sound off!) and avoid suspicion I think. I have heard another shopper say that they just use video and then they go back and screenshot.

Field agent and those blue presto shops pay the quickest.
In the future when she can tie up her cash for a little longer, she should do the alcohol/tobacco compliance ones. Make sure they bonus you!

@ColoKate63 @ColoradoShops I'm not sure if there is a limit this time. I was able to sign up for 4 at once on the first day, and then I also did 3 today. I think another member (sstazz) mentioned earlier in this thread that they signed up for 9 at once? In any case, if there IS a limit, the blue pins will simply disappear from your map after you've reached that threshold.
Unsure if it's a region limit, but I was able to assign 9 in my area before all the rest fell off my map. To the effect that I can't even see reserved ones.
Has anyone had one of their shops approved yet? I completed 3 on Monday and 3 on Tuesday, and they are still "awaiting review". It says that shops will be reviewed within 72 hours, but I thought they were usually pretty quick about it in the past and am now getting a bit worried.

I did have a 4th shop on Monday that was declined because the location closed the interior (last week the location's interior had been open, so when I accepted the shop I thought it was still open...But with covid rising in my area, I guess some businesses are increasing restrictions again). I knew that this shop would be declined because I couldn't access the interior, but it's the only shop I've done so far that has any "accept/decline", even though I completed 3 others on Monday as well.

I've also noticed a lot of pins for locations that I know ARE open that are still available on the map. This seems a little strange to me, since I'd assume they'd be claimed and completed rather quickly...? I'm wondering if the MSC is having multiple shoppers check the same locations this time around?
@sstsau I did a shop on Monday and it was approved this evening, the one I did on Tuesday is still pending.`
I will probably delete the app even though other companies post jobs there, too. These assignments are horrendous! At first, I posted that they were 'easy peasy'. Now, I realize that they are inflexible, possibly intractable. No one is coding or programming for variations, such as locations within larger host sites. These various business situations should have been accounted for before any assignments appeared on the app. Gah. And, go me.I do not need to do this.

Wanted to give an update to the below post; I asked for clarification on one of the shop questions and the editor was extremely helpful, the shop ended up being approved. It appears that they are seeing the need for the client questions and the form to be revised to address the location specifics. Yay!
"I had a similar situation as mentioned above with closed locations and logistics. I agree, the very first round of these safety checks were easy and approved. Yet now, they seem to not be accepting the same types of photos and/or tacitly rejecting shop regardless of the what the actual situation at a location. I have a bank shop that is now in question as they are saying the signage on the front door is blurry, which is not accurate, the sign is behind the glass of the front door. I have uploaded a "clearer" photo with a question and clarification, so we'll see, but at this point, I am not confident. "

Mine from Tuesday are still awaiting review. It's probably just slower processing this round.

Same (not available, but surprisingly haven't yet been completed).
They were definitely harder this time. I finally snagged three of them and two were there but changed brand names(bank) and I could find not way to report this? The other one was also a bank and a lot more questions and observations than the first round.
