Confero reward shops

These were recently referenced in a different thread. I haven't done one in two years as the fees never get high enough to lure me and the restaurants shopped aren't places I'd normally go. However, one was offered for a call-in order at a Tex/Mex eatery that happened to be right around the corner from one of my $45 Five Guys, so I figured it was a chance to try the Tex/Mex place. (There are about 100 locations nationally -- and just one anywhere near the large city I live in.) One nice thing is that they no longer FedEx the rewards. You print out the confimation form, and if the shop passes you just collect the emails of the employee and manager. At least with this chain there also wasn't an "oops" card - just a certificate if the soda offer is made. The meal may not have been the greatest Tex/Mex cuisine I've ever tasted but it was certainly decent for a freebie with very little work required for the shop or report.

Thanks for letting us know. The TexMex is not in my area area but plenty of other forum members will probably make good use of your assessment.
You do the reveal and have the manager sign off regardless of whether or not you get offered the soda (or in the case of this restaurant the bundle meal which includes a soda). I don't know whether Confero has stopped mailing rewards for all of these shops or just for this particular restaurant chain (although the client is the same regardless of the eatery), but it certainly makes things easier for the shopper. BTW, the reward for this one was a code for Uber Eats.
I did a Confero reward shop last week for another chain (sandwich), and I was also only required to print out the manager verification form and the congratulations card (to present if they are successful)...no mailed rewards. The Tex/Mex chain is also available in my area, but I did not sign up for any of them. It seems like Confero has transitioned all of these reward shops to the printed/non-mailed rewards, which seems more convenient to me. I was wondering whether it might be due to the Covid-19 situation, but hopefully they stay with non-mailed rewards even after the pandemic ends. I've only done a few of these reward-type shops, but I never liked worrying about whether the mailed rewards would arrive and the hassle of having to return any "unused" rewards.
