Your best/worst/first MS-ing senior moment (if you can remember it, haha)

So I had mine today. I knew what name I could not use because I remembered the name I used for an earlier conversation. However, I forgot which name I used during the introductions and pleasantries. *oops* Fortunately, I already had inserted a reason for leaving instead of buying and I just built that into an 'oh, I am almost late for the next and imaginary event.'

So fess up. What are your moments? grinning smiley

Sending the wrong receipt for hedgehog shop, and of course automatically declined. Also missing one silly photo at Chilis, (post check somn), and poof gone.
Forgetting what was SUPPOSED to be in package and telling Clerk I was shipping a toy.
Many years ago and early in my career, I was at the register trying to concentrate on the Cashiers name so I could remember it when I left. I had her name so strongly in my mind that when I started to sign the credit approval screen (required back then) I actually wrote her name. I just claimed a senior moment as I resigned my own name and left in a hurry.
Back when Starbucks was shopped, I gave a fake name on occasion. Actually used, "Emma" if anyone remembers KSSEmma? I didn't realize it was my drink until the barista called the name twice.
Sort of a senior moment and sort of not...During a gas station audit, a young whipper snapper with a baffled look on his face, pointed out to me that he couldn't believe someone my age was doing what I was doing. I was so taken aback that he thought I was too old to be doing audits, that I completed the audit without taking any of the pump photos...not even one. Bothered me the whole day too because I didn't think I looked "old." Ha ha ha I assume I returned for the photos...I don't remember..bahaha

Last month, before leaving on a 500 mile route, I carefully printed off the "leave behind sheet" and all other required paperwork, including guidelines (just in case, ya know!) By the time I completed the 5th station, I had those guidelines practically memorized! Which made the rest of the route go much, much faster.

It wasn't until I got home and unpacked the car and found every copy of the "leave behind sheet", pristine, in a folder, that I realized I had never left even one.

Fortunately, the report didn't ask if I had printed and left the "leave behind sheet". If it had, I would have had to 'fess up!!!
Ahh there are so many...My first hotel shop fortunately I decided to do one near my home. I carefully packed everything into an overnight bag including laptop, Got to the check in and no bag. I was so fortunate that my husband was home to bring it to me. I did remember I had to do an airport shuttle and I live near the airport so he met me there with my bag.
Then there are all the senior tech issues. The worst was when I was trying to learn to push the right button in my pocket, My recorder was upside down and I accidently pushed replay as I walked through the restaurant. Took me a few moments to figure out the talking voice I heard in the front of the restaurant was mine.
Although I am far from senior I am a senior in terms of length of time doing mystery shopping. Today I had one of these as I accidently entered one cell phone shop reps name into the wrong report and vice versa with another mixed the at&t rep with the Verizon rep names.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I don't think I am old enough yet to have a senior moment, but my worst occurred early in my shopping career. I shopped the wrong location! It was only my second shop for that MSC and they never let me work for them again. sad smiley
Quite some time ago, I did a shop to evaluate the process of signing up for a baby shower registry. I brought my daughter along, as the pregnant one (she wasn’t) and went over with her what should happen. When the associate asked how far along was she, she blurted out that she wasn’t pregnant. Of course she was horrified as she immediately realized what she had just said. I did some quick thinking and reassured my daughter that I was sure the doctor would verify the results of her home pregnancy test. I have no idea what the associate thought or if she believed me. I really thought I had been made, but my shop was accepted. Oh..I never brought my daughter with me again..by mutual consent.

I've only outed myself accidentally once. Cell phone shop in a major outdoor shopping complex. "What brings you in today?" "My wife is shopping at Bed, Bath & Beyond and that is not my scene." Later in the interaction the salesperson asks "Would you be adding a line for your wife?" and I responded "I have a wife?" DOH! That report did not get filed.
Has to be the time I handed the Credit Card Rep, the exact credit card I was inquiry about instead of my ID.

Yes, Cool, when we screw up that majorly, we cannot file the report!!!

I did a shop, and was unfortunately attracted (VERY) to the target. I ended up flirting outrageously. In good conscience, I could not write an unbiased, objective report. I called the scheduler and explained what happened, and she found another shopper.

I think I can still hear her giggling....

The worst for me was doing an audit in a cell phone store that was involved and lasted way over an hour. The associates were helpful but kept looking at me in a weird way when I would ask them the standard questions. I kept finding things out of compliance and was thinking this was going to be a pain to report. Yep, it was the wrong location, the same type of store on the same street. The next day I went to the correct store and the audit was a breeze.
I was at an assisted living center today and had to sign in on their Covid form. I couldn't remember the alias I had given the salesperson.

So what did you do? Maybe scribble an unreadable signature?
Yep.
