They are with a new MSC. This MSC offers a decent-ish flat fee payment. I have a shop scheduled tomorrow.

As far as I'm concerned, the fee isn't quite decent enough, and no reimbursement for your purchase. Mostly because the one nearest me is 45 miles away. I do understand if I manage to do 3 of them, they'll entertain route offers. But when you're used to building a route of 10 or 12 over 500 miles at $75 each, the drop to $15 is....horrid.

Very different situations. I'm happy that the flat fee is higher than the previous MSC's total pay. I actually bought something I needed today.

Looking at you with sad green eyes. There are two ACE hardware within 2 miles of my house and another 6 miles away.................................. have fun on the shop tomorrow!

I do them when I have other shops nearby. The best thing? Regardless of the given scenario, I always get inspired when browsing and checking the rest of the store. There is always... something... that piques my interest, catches my eye, or makes me wonder about something. I realize that this is work and is not supposed to be fun. But these shops are fun work for me!

I LOVE that store! There is one a few blocks from my house and another almost across the street from my office. There's another a bit further out from town that I used to shop when the fee went up. Those stores are so fun for me. I get all my air conditioner filters there - they have a good quality one that is $5, and periodically (this month) have a Buy Two Get One Free - so $10 for 3. And I buy all kinds of kitchen gadgets I never knew I needed. And my lawn and leaf bags. And light bulbs. Have fun on the shop!

rofl taco, thanks for the idea to get my HVAC filters from there! Yesterday I got cactus soil. I don't dare enter the kitchen gadget section. That is a shop I truly enjoy.

That shop helped me convert my house to energy-saving light bulbs before they became affordable.

I love hardware-store shops, but the fee isn't enough to get me to drive almost 20 miles round-trip to the nearest one.... Unfortunately.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

Any hints as to the MSC for these? Can you use your Ace rewards membership?

Thanks for posting this. it reminds me I have to get back to my search for filters...my size was not available anywhere 6 months ago. Ace claimed they had them but when I filled out the order form suddenly they did not. I think my filters are on a slow boat from China. (please do not take offense if you are a boat captain, a boat, the ocean or Chinese or a politician).

In the Mystery Shopping Company section, the MSC is mentioned in a thread title. The MSC is not one of the big wigs.

It will be nicer if such MSC checked promptly submitted shops. I submitted one on July 8th and shop was not checked yet.
