How much are you willing to put on a credit card for a P/R?

Cannot be returned the same day, that is the problem, a long drive for me and must be returned four days later. Had I had other jobs to do four days later, yes I would do it, the P/R is not the problem for this job, the distance is...

I still feel awkward and stupid returning stuff. Too many years in retail, knowing what the clerk is thinking.

i purchased $15,000.00 in jewelry for multiple combined locations of a shop chain and then returned it all.

it broke the hearts of the salespeople, who exhibited a wide range of emotions, ranging from fear to sorrow to anger to frustration. they acted like i was tearing out their souls, due to commission losses. i still feel like an evil person.

when salesperson had actually used the word 'love' when i made the original purchase. she said 'we love you' repeatedly. but then i had returned an item and she was stomping angry.
For me, these shops are not worth the time, energy or the headaches.
Vince, I am sad they have us do these shops. It is downright mean. That is a person's livelihood we are dealing with. Many folks are commission only. How would we feel if our salary was dangled in front of us, then snatched away. It is cruel.

money can really get people out of sorts. these salespeople were predominantly really invested in their work. it's like some of them were putting their hearts and souls into their sales. they were assigned to dissuade my returns on $1000 items, despite imminent failure.
I usually don't do many purchase and return shops. However, I returned and exchanged a few purchase only items this month. In addition, I did three purchase and return shops. I wonder if credit card or stores do any tracking of purchase and returns.

I have one visa credit card which I use for mystery shopping. My credit card statement this month looked very strange.

My credit card really looked strange with the two purchase shops, giving me credit, as the exchange was less than the original amount and the three purchase and returns.
Surprisingly my credit cards have never balked or inquired about P/R stuff, though they have placed a stop on my account when I filled up the gas tank on one car in the household and an hour later filled up the other car at the same station. I have gradually gotten them used to lots of small purchases at different locations of the same client done the same day. I carry multiple cards so if one of them happens to flag my activities as 'suspicious' I always have a backup available.

i simply call the credit card company prior to a large purchase, so that they can notate it on the account and not freeze anything up.
The issues are not the large purchases but rather the little purchases within a several hour window at 6 same name grocery stores in town. That is not 'normal' behavior.

i've called in for that also, and gotten it to pass. i just say that it's business related. nothing more.
