Panda Express is Coming Back!

CHILL! I think you get the meaning of it.

As a POC I find equating it to slavery offensive. That is my opinion. You can state your opinion without suggesting how I react or feel.
I think this is better than the old MSC. As others mentioned, you can get a bowl and stay under the reimbursement amount. Before, I would have to use reimbursement plus some pay to cover my meal, so that's a win for me. I'm just glad that some of the food shops are starting to return. I'm tired of Five Guys and In n Out being the only choice around here.

I miss California, and In n Out.. Not enough to go back, LOL.
I received the email today. I am surprised that no one mentioned, "Let us buy you lunch." I'm more offended at that than the fee.

I haven't shopped for the new MSC previously. Does it usually take them a while before they start offering bonuses?

Are there specific food required on,panda?

The guidelines say to buy a bowl or a plate. no requirement for a drink or any add on sides.
There never was a requirement that we buy a drink, but how can you eat without having something to drink? Whenever I ordered the entree without a drink, they almost always offered me a complimentary water cup. I could fill it with water from the fountain dispenser as often as necessary.

I like the bowl option but the new requirement is to dine alone. I took hubby with me as he likes Panda and I don't. I would've waited for the drive-thru ($1 less pay and not yet released) had I known. Also, I have to ask a question for the report.

I can see where someone could easily equate "you work, we feed you, no pay" with "slave wages".

JM2CW.

With the caveat, of course, that we are free to choose not to participate.

That being said, if I'm ever close to one (I think the one nearest me is about 300 miles away), I might try it just because I've never eaten at Panda, and would like to try it.

Dont accept them, problem solved.
Your feeling then will not be hurt!

Yea, this is true, but I carry filtered water with me (minimum of two 34 oz. bottles), I don't like to drink soda fountain drinks. I quit drinking carbonated beverages in 2009, and for a number of years I didn't do dine in fast food shops because they all have a drink requirement.

I carry spring water with me, unless I run out during the day. I put it in my back pocket so they cannot see it. That way I am giving the employee the opportunity to suggest an add-on purchase.
Swili….you …. If the pay bothers you leave it for us…

If I understood correctly, Swilli was not expressing hurt feelings at the pay, but that someone equated low pay to slavery. A sentiment with which I agree.
On a different note, unless I missed something, the e-mail said "can we buy you lunch" but it didn't look like lunch was specified or that dinner was not allowed. I hope that's the case because if they do raise the fees, I'd like to do dinner shops there again. Can't do lunch easily due to the day job (although weekend lunches are possible sometimes).
And the fifty cent and dollar phone call shops etc
Geeze folks, don’t like it don’t take it.
What would you call a $100 shop if the other terms offend snowflakes?!?

Canadamommy, this has nothing to do with "don't like it don't take it". We're talking about someone saying that voluntary low-paid work is the same as slavery. It isn't anything like slavery, and to people whose cultural history includes being subjected to slavery, that statement is offensive.

Again, it has nothing to do with the job itself !
Lmao. I tried to do one but the dining room is closed still “because of covid.” Closed shop. I think I might get $6 for taking a picture of the building.
Thats almost the shop fee!

I guess the client got used to short narratives with their old MSC, because the visit narrative is limited to 300 characters!
Do we all really need to wait for a shop to eat at a place that costs $11????? My goodness

Yeah, I wrote 600 and then had to paste it over into the box with no character limit.

LOL, LindaM, you're right ... but man, I am good and tired of burgers!
So painless. Drive Thru. Short report. Free meal. As long as they pay me, I’d happily do again. The 60 days is dumb though. 20 would be enough.
For those who haven’t been to Panda for a while they have a new item - Crispy Almond Chicken Breast. It’s not traditional Chinese but I liked it and will order it again on my upcoming shop.

I wanted to try that one, but was told that they were not serving it the day I did the shop for some reason. I then asked for the honey sesame chicken which was on the menu board, which they said they didn't have either, so I had to default to orange chicken. I was extremely disappointed since this was the first panda shop I have done in what feels like almost 2 years.

$6 fee + $7.50 reimbursement is 50 cents better than the $4 fee + $9 reimbursement (if I remember correctly) from old MSC. Although still not great - maybe they'll get bonused.

They just came out with a new round and now they are at $5.
