Oriental
should be accepted. It is a geographical reference, and this leads right back to my constant question: What the unprintable are they teaching these days?! To be fair, Asian is now a dirty term, too. Asia includes many nations, regions, persons, race/ethnic blends, and food fusions. It could be argued that fusing foods diminishes food origins, which are interconnected with people, places, and customs that become diluted or disappear after so many fusions... but someone else can take that up when they have too much time on their hands...
Meanwhile, someone should figure out how to feed us all nutrient globules, or granules, or something, which are 100% free of references to race, ethnicity, gender, religion, tradition, time, space, matter, and anything else that could cause indigestion.
