Just curious to see who is planning on attending?

I believe it to be Shopper Fest but since we are close to Thanksgiving Shopper Feast would be pretty interesting. Btw I have no idea what either is or would be.
Ohhh boy gee golly I hope there is an open cruise shop during that so I can get reimbursed!
Because there is no better idea than boarding a cruise ship with 4000+ other people during a pandemic.

Fantastic idea!

Seriously.

On a cruise ship? Seriously?
If I had the desire to spend my vacation money on a cruise (I don't), it would be a vacation. Not a shopper convention.
The prices are a pretty clear signal that this MSC-oriented interest group does not care much about developing new-to-MS shoppers.

I have been working on cruise ships for the last six years of my life and have been dealing with groups like this all of the time. Wales makes a great point. It is much cheaper to block off a part of a ship (most likely with other random guests) than to rent a convention space. Also, this really limits the amount of creativity one can have for the event when it is on a ship. Not sure I would ever pay any large amount of money to go to something like this but this seems a little insulting to the ones who actually care.
I see nothing inherently wrong with holding events at convention centers, on cruise ships, or anywhere else that can accommodate a number of people. At this time in history, some people might be wary of all get-togethers and all venues due to potential covid issues. Even without covid in the world, every event and venue has some risks. It is unavoidable. People pay their money and take their chances.

eta: Is the cost of this event deductible for anyone?

Does the Mystery Shopping Providers Association have any programs to assist new shoppers who cannot afford the conference fees?
Not that I know of. However, the IMSC (Shopper run conference) does.

Which conference are you referring to? There is the cruise, then there is also a conference in Phoenix in Feb of 2022. I was planning to attend the conference in Phoenix.

The Phoenix conference is the IMSC, which is by and for shoppers.
