New Kroger MSC

My Ralph’s particularly busy today. Maybe folks are buying more in anticipation of possible strike. Hope it doesn’t interfere with my future shops

Hi All! First time posting to the forums grinning smiley
I had a few questions about the latest round of pick up shops. Would someone kindly chime in to help clarify a few lines in the FAQ? (Or let me know if these are better suited for the scheduler.)

"up to $7 reimbursement for the pickup fee"
1. If the pickup fee is $4.95, do you request the exact amount or a flat $5?

"You must place the order no later than 4pm to try for same-day pickup, otherwise your order will be ready when the store has open pickup times the next day" --
2. We don't *have* to do same-day pickup, correct? In other words, I'm all set so long as I place my order for pick up on my shop date?

"Pickup shops must be spaced apart by 3 days, per the client (regardless of who performed or is scheduled for any of the shops)."
3a. Does this mean I can't run a route? Location A, Location B, Location C all on same day?
3b. If I do my first shop on 3/28 at Location A, does this mean my earliest next pickup should be on 3/31? Asking as I was able to schedule one for 3/28 and 3/30 and those are not 3 days apart.

-- Edited to add --
My shops were accepted, so it seems we're good if the app allows us to reserve it smiling smiley

Nola - Sorry I can’t answer all of your questions precisely, as in their attempt to clarify some points the MSC actually made it more confusing. I asked for the exact amount of the pickup fee in my prior shops. I believe it’s still ok to order the day before. If you were able to schedule your shops you should be fine with their rotation rules. The app won’t let you schedule outside of those rules.

Edited to add - I just reread the FAQ’s and it appears they just revised them to remove some of the confusing comments. Also, in the actual shop instructions it says you can order up to a week in advance. I think they are saying if you want same day delivery, you must order by 4pm of that date.

@nola_shop

I think what they mean by 3 days apart is each individual store. If you are shooping a store there has to be 3 days before someone else can shop the same store.

You are correct. I had both versions in my hand printed out at the same time. Initially it was no substitutions and now you do allow substitutions. It is much better this way because you get a similar item and don't fall below the $25 mark.
I just have to say--I LOVE THESE SHOPS! I have been able to pick up 35-40 shops each month for the last two months. The funny part is I am running out of things to buy! I have made a list and am buying things I would never buy from a grocery store like shampoo and deodorant and candles just to meet the purchase requirement. I just retired and this is fantastic! The new company has been great to work with and I hope they keep this going for a long time.

I am the same. So many shops I'm running out of things to buy. Pantry and freezer are full. I love it.

Competitor shops have posted.

I got some. Including 2 Trader Joes which I love.
They just posted the next round along with competitors again. I got enough shops to cover my groceries for the next few weeks.

I sure do wish Kroger had some competitors around here...

Where is "here". The competitor shops go quickly so maybe you missed them. Trader Joes, Albertsons, Vons, Smart and Final, etc.

Northern AL. The closest thing to competition for Kroger is Mitchell Grocers, in the rural areas, and Walmart.
Pickup jobs haven't been posted yet, right? Those typically follow the regular ones, but I haven't seen them yet.
Some of my local competitor shops have include Aldi, Walmart, Fresh Thyme, Meijer, and Trader Joe's.

Curbside shops aren't posted in my area (PNW) either. I've been watching for them too. Hopefully soon!

Wow, that's a lot of groceries. I got two and now have to start planning what I will get. Mostly staples that will last a long time.

Wow! I thought we were limited to 6. Did you email the scheduler to get the 7th and 8th shops?

They seem to release these shops on the third week of every month? I'm not sure what the frequency is.
