Should I buy a PV500?

I am this close to investing in a PV500. Using your phone or some other cheap alternative seems like a hassle. What are you guys' thoughts on the matter?

If you're serious about doing video shops, the PV 500 is the industry standard. It takes some getting used to but I prefer it to other cheaper options.

By all means, if you want steady opportunities in video shopping, the PV-500 is the way to go.

I too, have been thinking of doing video shops - there are many in the metro area where I live. The PV500 seems to be pretty old. It looks like it first came out around 2008? Is there any newer cameras that uses more "current" technologies? Appreciate any info!

There are many newer versions of the PV-500. A new one comes out about once a year, so you need to do more homework. The best way to find out what video MSCs demand and which PV-500 models will deliver ir, reliably, is to ask those MSCs what their owners/staff would buy if replacing their current equipment.
The odd thing is, my pre-2010 models are actually worth more used than most of the newer ones are new. Reason: extraordinary reliability with high quality picture and sound.

if you choose to invest in a PV 500, take care of the device and it's cam attachment lens. The wires are fragile, and the camera wont work of a wire has been pulled out, and it can and does happen.
When I say invest, I mean exactly that. My PV 500 has paid for itself many times over...but those tiny fragile wires : O

Happy Holidays and thanks to all of you for the great feedback. I did purchase a PV500. I should receive it early 2022 or sooner. The video shops are bonuses quite well in my area, so I will earn back the investment quickly.

I had a single experience with a newer model when the switch on my pre-2011 broke. It was a disaster, with me losing eight shops, fees of $320 and meals. If the unit I have owned since Aug, of 2009 ever completely dies, I will exit the audio/video phase of this business.
