The cons are the same as for shoppers: little pay, little respect from many MSCs. Add little respect from many shoppers too. The advantage is not having to actually engage in shopping

There were some old threads about it but I can't find them. There are definitely challenges, though, such as reports that are so badly written that you can barely make out the meaning and shoppers not responding when clarifications are needed.
I always enjoyed it. My managers were great!

I have only had a single conversation with a scheduler/editor concerning pay; she stated her MSC paid $1.95 a report.
I edited for a couple of years. The pay is low. I liked it because it made me more aware of what went into turning into a great shop. I did it more for the experience than the money. I edited long casino and hotel reports.
Pros: You do not have to leave the house. You realize what makes a terrific shopper.
Cons: The pay is low. Every company has different requirements and believes their form of editing (grammar rules) is correct. You have to keep track of your work to ensure you are paid correctly. The flow of work is inconsistent through the month/quarters.

I did and was let go because they feel I did not edit to their standards. The pay is low and they nit pick about everything that you do.
There. You see? Editors might deserve hazard pay. I believe they do.
