PEARSON VUE SHOPS

Hello and good morning. The instructions say that you fill out an application and later on you actually do the shop where you evaluate the proctor administering the test.

Does anyone know...

What is the time between the application and doing the test?

Do you evaluate the proctor or do you actually try to cheat and not get caught?

Thanks,

Carl

It has been years since I last did a Pearson VUE shop because the pay is way too low.

The time between the application and doing the test depends on when a testing spot is available. Before the pandemic, the wait time was relatively short (less than a month).

There are security procedures the employees are supposed to follow. You have to detail whether the employees followed those procedures. Most of my test center shops (for Pearson VUE and others) require me to do several specific things to try to cheat and not get caught.

it used to be $50, they lowered it to $30 in my area during covid. which made no sense because if i was risking going out, why was it for $20 less?
If I was allowed to try and pass, I would do it for fun just to see how much I knew or could reason out. But, you have to agree to fail. Not fun from my perspective.

If you ever expect to need to pass a Pearson test, be careful since all your failed tests may end up getting reported.

Shopping South Jersey, Southeast Pennsylvania, and Delaware above the canal since 2008
Minimum $125.

A few years ago there was one for $200.
Did one once and it made me very uncomfortable. I pretty much was instructed to fail the test and then ask the employee, “Is there anything I can do to pass the test? (wink wink)”. This was several years ago. Not worth the pay.

Yeah, that sounds like something I think I will avoid. A). The "meat" of the shop may be on a day when I have to work at my real job. cool smiley. I'm not super comfortable doing shops where you have to go out of your way to present an issue for the folks who are just trying to do their job. I guess it's a good training scenario for them, on the other hand. I think I'll pass.

I did one of these for not nearly enough money once upon a time. I did not understand that I had to try to bribe somebody into making me pass a test that I couldn't pass even if I knew what I was talking about. One of my hard and fast rules is that I do not set people up to fail or to commit a crime. So it's pretty safe to assume at this point that I will not be doing another one.

Years ago I did one and tried to fail. To my shock I earned a score of 84%! It was about real estate management. I Still got paid my full fee.
I have done so many over the years I could legitimately pass that real estate investment management one. I never take them less than $70 now usually more. I think my low was $50 but I most have really needed cash and it had to be local. There are two on my job board now that I may try to negotiate $100 for. Think my personal high was $150 on these.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

That would be approaching my minimum needed to consider doing the shop.
