Sbarro Pizza.

Has any one done a Sbarro Pizza mystery shop?

Is the pizza good and is the report easy?

I've never been impressed by Sbarro pizza. It's expensive and mostly taste like cardboard with cheese.

The mystery shopping company for the shops, generally has long involved surveys and a lot of narrative required. But I no longer work for them, if it's the same company. So I don't know what their current survey involves.

You have to take a picture discretely of the pizza display case and possibly one of the register area. It's been a couple years since I did one so I can't exactly remember if there's a register photo required.
I thought the last time I did one the pizza wasn't bad or as bad as I remembered it when I used to get it at the airport locations. The last time I did one was at a travel plaza on the NY State Thruway. They've closed to renovate the travel plaza.
I did a chicken shop several months ago where I took a picture of the display case.

It should not be that hard. I don't think.

They to all who have replied
Photos needed of the display case and register area? Not a problem as I take photos to prove to my daughter I was at that location as part of an inside joke......
My opinion of Sbarro is the pizza is NO worse than any other fast food shop you will probably take in it's place (Jack in the Box/Panda/Carl's Jr/etc). But it's certainly nothing to get excited about doing either.

I did the shop 1x. It was too lengthy and a waste of MY time Others might not mind, but I did not feel I needed to write this much for the pay and food I was receiving. I have not done another one.

Ask the scheduler how many questions and how many narratives are required so you get a feel for the shop before committing. Some people don't care and will accept shops and then cancel after seeing them. I prefer to get a "feel" upfront before committing to anything. A buddy of mine was going to do a BWW shop and I know how he feels about shops in general. I asked him what he was thinking and he ended up canceling it after looking at it. He knows if I think it is not worth it, he definitely won't like it.

I liked the strombolis and garlick knots, but the report and photos are too much work for a mere $10 pay.
You do need a photo of the display, the register, your food and the entire shop. The report isn't all that bad, but it is weirdly redundant at times.
No matter what or how much you give in the FIVE narrative sections, they will send it back to you for more. Ten-foot pole list.
I know a lot of people theses days take pictures of their food /menus/etc. to show their family and friends

Wonder why they will send it back even if you covered all the NO answers?

Thanks again to all who have replied
If you enjoy writing (more than necessary) than go ahead and do this shop. If you are doing it for the food, i guess I can't help you on that one. Like I said, the food is NO worse than other options that can be shopped (Jack in the Box/Panda/Hardees-Carls Jr). But if you just need to eat something, why not get a COSTCO slice of pizza for $2 and not have to waste your time on the report? The pay and requirements are a turn-off for most of us. Some people must like it enough to keep doing them.
I did a few years ago. I didn't mind it at all. It is not the grandest of pizzas, but it is not that bad either. The one in our area is in a mall, and I would occasionally stack it with other in the mall. It helped to make for a nice day shopping. I enjoyed those MSing mall outings. I haven't stepped foot in a mall since covid though.

How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg?

The report wasn't a big deal to me. What kills it for me is the trip to the mall for little reward.
I like the pizza and have had no problems with the report or MSC. It was a lot more caloric, but also more fun when Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon, Orange Julius, Godiva Chocolates and Bruster’s were also shopped.
I did one a few years ago. They limited what pizza you could order. I remember it was very spicy and I did not like it. I haven't done one since.
Sbarro is one step above Little Caesars. It’s “mall pizza,” which means the food sits out under a heat lamp and isn’t very fresh. It’s overpriced. You have to “discreetly” take several photos, one of which is of the display. I found that photo difficult to take, because I was the only customer and the employee watched me like a hawk. I would not do another one of these.

Bundle it with a Yankee Candle shop for $15 with a $5 reimbursement.

Just try to find something they sell for $5 or less or get a coupon from someone that loves their store. If so they're very doable with a 12 minute in store requirement.
I'm actually amazed that college kids haven't discovered mystery shopping. They'll eat anything and I used to do a Papa Johns that would have delivered to the dorms or was close enough for pickup before they closed the location.

There's a Panda Express on campus that I've shopped.
They probably are probably struggling to submit their homework now… I know I was!

I love Sbarro pizza and was sad when they closed down in the mall nearby years ago. During COVID, the one at my job closed down. :-( I remember doing some jobs at the mall as well as in our local BJ's. Cheap reimbursement and counter/food pix were a PITA when you were the only one in line.

What's really amazing to me is that college students who are 21 years old aren't jumping all over the alcohol compliance shops! Or maybe they are but they keep it to themselves so their fellow students don't find out and take all the jobs away from them!
The pizza is good but they ask for a lot of specific photos and when there are two associates standing there, less than a yard away from you it can get awkward fast. Worst one is the sign by the register since it's easier to get away with food photos.
The picture taking was easier than I thought. The food was awful. I was trying to get some cred with the company to get better shops. So far ignored! The reports were easy. The food was awful. Oh I said that. I agree with daddy, go to Costco.
The pics of the display case and register sticker are very awkward to pull off, and that is why I won't accept the shop again. And their pizza is way overpriced and the chicken parm tastes like cardboard. But their meat lasagna is very good. Yes, Costco pizza slices are a super great deal for $2.00. Paid $4.00 for one slice in Hoboken, NJ last week. Never again !!!!
I.ve mentioned this in previous Sbarro threads. Years and years ago Sbarro had great Calzone. I did not see them around and when they re emerged in my city the food was much less tasty and more expensive. That said I did one in the local mall food court. The counter photo was impossible as those waiting to put in their order stood in line and blocked the entire counter case. When I finally saw an open space and snapped a photo the staff threatened to call security on me. They told me company policy was no one can take a photo of their food on display. The photo near the register was hard to disguise as well.
There is a lady that I know and she went to the one that just open up here not to long ago and she was not impress with it.

Wonder why they want a picture of the sticker next to the register?

If people take pictures of the display case/ register sticker and if the employees see you, will they know that they are being shopped that day?
i don’t shop this pizza place but now i want to go there and take a bunch of photos for kick!!!
Worse than this shop pic requirement was the one of pics in a check cashing place and an absurd laughable shop guideline telling you what to say if questioned. Yup. Most of these check places are in high crime nabes and staff calling 911 would come as no surprise and be expected.
