Random Thoughts On A Sunny Afternoon

But guysmom said, "This is a lightly moderated forum."

Where is this agreement?

Jasper,
There is a long, long agreement here that we DO NOT discuss politics or political views. Since you have been here just a year, perhaps no occasion has come to your attention when members reminded one another of this and everyone stood down. Just because one "can" intelligently discuss something does not mean that such discussion is appropriate everywhere. Political "stuff" drove many, many former Volition member to this forum. Let's not go down that road here, please.

Mrs. Morlezep, I never said what could or could not be discussed, that would be walesmaven. She is the one saying that certain topics are not allowed. I simply asked if a thread about random thoughts would be better suited for the General Chat forum rather than the Mystery Shop Discussion forum.

Just as this post would be better suited in General Chat [www.mysteryshopforum.com] . It is just about how many customers are in a store. People are so defensive that they can't even admit that. They won't even acknowledge the comment because someone else may have a point.

So the new rules for this forum is that we can only talk about subjects that Jasper Johnson wants to talk about. We can't have any thoughts or opinions about the jobs that we do or choose not to not to do, because it doesn't benefit Mr. Johnson. You can't have any random thoughts about the certifications that we have to take for the jobs we do because it doesn't benefit Mr. Johnson.
JJ’s got 13 separate attempts to stir a pot, but he/she isn’t getting the craved-for attention, so they’re hitting the “Like” on their own posts. So sad.

Did someone leave the door open at Reddit or 4Chan and the trolls escaped? Hitting the “ignore” toggle on you, JJ.

The fact that you found an off topic thread doesn't really mean you have a point. For instance, I just went through the last month of posts in this forum, 4 pages worth, and found a grand total of 2 threads that weren't related to MS. 2 threads out of 140. That's a pretty good result if you ask me... almost perfect.

You're basically trolling at this point, what with your meatloaf recipe and facetious list of hot button topics to discuss. I think your other posts add good content to the forum, and I dont want to see you get the boot, or have everyone start blocking you, so maybe it's time to chill out here?
whatwhatdbl I appreciate your polite assessment that doesn't use inflammatory language, but I think the ones that are over reacting are walesmaven and French Farmer and a few others that probably only skimmed though the post before chiming in. If I did attack or admonish someone, please show me post. I'm leaving before it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. I don't expect anyone will back up their accusations with a specific post that was made.

I understand your frustration, but frankly, I think you are overreacting a bit here.

*** The posts are arguing both sides of an argument when it benefits them. ***

guysmom “This is a lightly moderated forum.”
VS
walesmaven “we DO NOT discuss politics or political views.”

walesmaven “The OP's post is most certainly about mystery shopping”
VS
FF “However, in my defense, the title of my post was of random thoughts.”

***** French Farmer *****
“I apologize if you found my post threatening or tiresome to you.”

“time is invaluable and must not be wasted upon such tedium and monotony.”

“Yes, there are issues that have been asked and answered over and over by helpful contributors of this forum. I see no harm, no foul in a rehashing, reasking of the same question or comment.”

“If you want to admonish me for a title not to your liking”

***** walesmaven *****
“It was a sad day when you were attacked as you were.”

“Criticizing posters for asking an MS-related question about tests is not a very collegial thing to do. Let's cool down before the mods shut this down.”

“Just because one "can" intelligently discuss something does not mean that such discussion is appropriate everywhere.”

*******************************************************************************

*** The intelligently discussion comment was made by maverick1 but they are addressing me about it??
“Sure...I'd like to believe I can intelligently talk about any of those subjects, unlike a large swath of the public. How's that for a random thought?”

*** The incendiary language walesmaven using was fueling the whole conversation. No one was attacked. There were no personal insults.

*** French Farmer was the one using insulting words - tiresome, tedium, monotony

*** French Farmer was also using incendiary and inaccurate language
* ad·mon·ish - warn or reprimand someone firmly
The likes were ironic because of someone's logic that if it has likes, it must be appropriate.

I appreciate the fact that you don't assume my gender as French Farmer has along with another poster, but I assume they were just following FF's lead.
