@meguerite I only do shipping shops once in a blue moon, but I have been able to send packages directly to food banks in the appropriate areas with no problem. I call ahead and ask for someone's name to send it to so I can conform with the scenario given, eg. mailing my sister at work, etc. My shops have all been accepted.
I'm in zone 7 (350xx). I have mailing partners, but I won't complain about more. I don't do hazmat shops, so any zip code that isn't the same as mine works for me. I won't open any boxes you send me, unless the box needs to be replaced. It'll go into my stack of mailinng boxes, get a new label and sent out again.

I have done this in the past, but in the end I find it easier to send to other people--who are always welcome to donate anything I send. I donate things to local food banks in my area, too, and fully support this idea smiling smiley

My simple solution for regular box shops is to send a 1 lb + pack of junk mail to a recycling center in the appropriate zone. No need to seek out a mail partner.
