Fitness Center Tour and Workout

Has anyone done these shops? The one in my area is offering $22.00 for a tour and a workout. Is the amount of work worth the money?

I guess it would depend on just how hard they work you out!

Lol. I have to work out for 20 minutes.
If you like to work out the shop sounds like it could be fun. However,if take into consideration, the tour could take anywhere from 30-45 minutes and then you will have to talk to the sales consultant.
It depends on the company. I've done shops like this, but they've varied from MSC to MSC. That said, except for one of them, which spanned multiple days, the reports haven't been bad. (And the fee for that one was higher.)
Be careful, you might have to give your credit card and sign up...that would be a problem. Taking a tour usually leads to that and tons of emails.

Live consciously....
Great points! Maybe I'll check it out if I'm desperate for work! Thanks all.
I have NEVER had to use my credit card for club tours and trial workouts. The only time I've ever even seen having a credit card as a requirement for a shop is when it is stipulated that you must negotiate and purchase a membership.

If a follow-up for the shop isn't required, you don't have to give out real information. That said, if and how an associate follows up is usually part of the exercise. As for frequency of communication, the only place that continues to email me more than 2 weeks after I visited is a place I went to on my own time, nothing to do with a mystery shop.
its a very easy shop... the report is not overly hard and the big thing is getting all the names... i think you have to get about 5 of them... other than that its a breeze... you get to take a workout and get paid... cant really beat it... i would do them but i kept scheduling and forgetting... so i was canned oh well.. thats all they do in my area... so im not concerned...

So. Here is my chuckle on this one. I entered the fitness center, received the tour. When the sales manager was unable to sign me up, he called in the training manager. When that didn't work, the assistant general manager was called. When that didn't pan out, the general manager was called. By that time, I had four big guys standing over my chair hammering on me for a membership. I practically ran out of there! As I escaped toward the entrance, the front desk manager tried to sell me vitamins.
a bit overzealous... im sure that they make commissions... either that or your refusals tipped them off...

The MS company required me to refuse & to report their reactions. They asked me to report whether the sales staff was "too pushy". I feel for the staff because they do work on comission and are expected not to let a potental sale walk out that door without a membership. The company tracks this by comparing applications to sales.
I have done these and was not required to purchase a membership. The tour was easy and I had a chance to get a free workout at a high class spa. The pay was $25 and MSC paid relatively quickly.
Thanks all. I'm going to give it a go!

lmao, This was funny. Its amazing the things we go through as mystery shoppers.
This shop was one of the best customer service experience I have ever received. I will gladly do those shops again! They were informative without being pushy. This was probably a different company than the ones who were pushy to shoppers.
