Spouse with own account

Curious to know if anyone has a spouse who is also a shopper?

Hubby did a few years ago. He doesn't enjoy it.

Nope. I am actually single these days. My ex-husband and last gentleman friend both went along at times, and enjoyed the perks, but neither were ever shoppers or had any interest in being a shopper themselves. My ex-husband's finance person thought mystery shopping was a very good thing to either do as a second income or to have a spouse do, because it offers many tax advantages to two income households. Nonetheless, I've probably spent more time wishing for a good shopping partner than I have wishing for another husband. Some shops really do need two people, and ideally two who know what is going on as opposed to one either being a liability to the integrity of the shop or randomly creating extra work. My current gentleman friend shows interest, but I have been clear that he needs to be "trained" before I take him on assignment, which I am actually looking forward to doing. We'll have to see how it works out. I may actually get my wish for a good shopping partner for Christmas.

I don’t have a spouse, but my son is a shopper and a dasher. He's 37, and lives in the motorhome outside.

Wifey hates it too. She knows her role if we go out to dinner. She has to give me descriptions of the people at restaurants (server/manager/etc).

So you indicate you "train" your significant other? Wow!

I had claimed the same thing ONCE. At the other end of the grocery store aisle I looked at MY significant other slapped my thigh and said, "here girl" with a smile. It wasn't appreciated. AT ALL!

(there were no other customers in the store aisle)

Some folks just can't take a light hearted joke, ya know?

I know we all have stories we could tell. But this nice gentleman that I dated for years would end up botching a shop in half a heartbeat if I didn't keep a close rein on it all. I loved that man, but he was a liability on a mystery shop, and he was down for the resorts and fine dining.

Hubby and adult son are both shoppers. They both do decent work, usually 9 or 10 out of 10. They don't do anything too complicated.

My husband will do INCREDIBLY simple shops on his own, I'm talking Pilot/Flying J kinda simple. He will do parking shops but only if I type while he tells me about the shop, lol!
He is great when he goes with me. Knows not to touch his food before taking a bite, remembers names/ descriptions, etc.

Yes, my wife is a fellow shopper. She tends to do post office or phone shops, while I usually stick with the restaurants.

I thought it would be nice to have someone to help. One person can be out doing the shop, e-mail photos and data home, the person at home could fill out the report. When both are home they can go over the report before filing it. It could save time doing shops.

Same! haha my husband enjoys the perks but hates the work behind it. He is also very good about getting descriptions or noticing small details for me.

I took my adult daughter along a few times. Like one above poster stated, she could ruin a shop in half a heartbeat.

Do you worry some companies might view you as having a duplicate account? Specifically the ones that require 2 people?

Some companies do not allow it. My husband is signed up for some, but really only does the reports where I'm required or allowed to go along too such as dining shops. One company actually encouraged him to sign up.

YES!! I started and then saw some that I thought my husband would like. He is self employed and has a very flexible schedule. He's really good at car shops, luxury jewelry shops and financial shops. He loves it!

Unfortunately, the first shop he attempted involved attending a "big event" and the MSC disputed the identified parking lot location. That was years ago; he didn't get paid and from that moment on, he was resistant to doing any more shops....until this week.

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.

Not sure if they still are, but Market Force has been anal about 2 people reporting from the same IP address. So anal one or the other would get deactivated.

If you don’t mind me asking. Why did the MSC dispute the parking lot location? Was this a parking shop itself?

Thank you ShopperGirly for giving me the giggles. My DH would never, ever MS. The thought of it sends me into hysterical laughter. More power to the people who have active, successful MS spouses.

My hubby enjoys email shops. He is not a big talker refuses to do in person shops but give him an email inquiry and he does well,

My husband did one shop on his own for a luxury auto brand. The requirement was male only. He told me about it and I wrote the report. It paid like $150.
