Five Guys Delivery/Door Dash

I've done a couple of delivery shops from Five Guys. It was preferred that you use their app to order. In my area that order is sent on to Door Dash. Twice now, my full address doesn't transfer and the driver calls for clarification. The driver today called, confirmed my address, but I never got the food. It was marked as being delivered. Five Guys said to call Door Dash and Door Dash said Five Guys will have to do the refund. That was a thirty minute phone call. I did the report, but who knows if they'll accept it. The responses weren't built to say the order never arrived (I used 500 characters of comments). I just hope I'm not out my $25.41 without even a meal to show for it. (I'll dispute it with my credit card if I have to do so.) The guidelines allow you to use other delivery companies instead of ordering thru Five Guys. In my opinion order straight through Door Dash if you do one of these shops to avoid this headache!

My husband did one while he was a hospital in Chicago for pretty much all day back/ back appointments. The door dash driver called & said she wasn't attempting to find him in the lobby of the hospital. Door Dash wouldn't refund as she marked the order delivered. Fully reported and was paid & reimbursed for the food.
He just didn't get the lunch he needed. Ended up paying for Panera in the hospital.

I used to work for DD and other third party delivery services.. (This was before COVID).. There were a couple of times I would deliver to either the room or If it was a nurse I would deliver it to the nurses station.

I also worked for them during COVID and when I would deliver to the hospitals, we were not allowed up in the rooms... But there was a table where we could put the food.. Most of the time the persons name was on the bag/ticket.. I would text them and say .. I just arrived with your food and I am putting it on the table in the looby where they told me to put it.. Thank you and enjoy your day..

There were a couple of times some one would meet me at the front lobby by the front entrance. In the delivery directions they may put "In front lobby by the gift shop with a Dallas Cowboy Hat on with Dallas T-Shirt or something like that..

If she knew it was going to the hospital she should not have accepted the order...

ETA: How come she did not come up to the room? Unless this was doing COVID and no one was allowed in the room other than the doctors/nurses

Was there another family member that could have met her in the lobby?

He wasn't in a room... he was there for testing, and had basically back to back appointments with multiple doctors. He was there by himself. He was standing in the lobby area waiting for her, but apparently she gave up before they found each other. She didn't try very hard, lol

I see... She should have at least stop at the front desk (if there was one) and said to the nurses "I have a order for XXXX.. Can you page him please or something to that effect.

I bet she did not have a hot bag with her.. Sadly most of them don't..

Yes, she did not try hard enough... **lol**

Oh my word, this exact thing happened to me almost to the t last night.
Placed my delivery order in the Five Guys app, this time it was delivered with Uber eats, however the numbers in my street address did not transfer and it only said the generic street name. "Oak St" instead of "23 Oak St"
This has happened to me before, usually the driver calls and I tell them where I live and then my food is colder than it should be. This time the driver just delivered it to, God only knows who, marked it as delivered, I'm hungry and frustrated, and wondering too if I'll be reimbursed.
Here's the good news:
On the email confirmation receipt that you were sent from Five Guys, there's a link at the bottom to submit a complaint, I did that and they emailed me back today saying they were going to reverse the charges. I did have to reply to the email and explain to them that I paid for it on their app / website and then they were able to find my order and refund it.
Hope they're able to do the same for you OP.
