Sonic exterior photo

Does the client expect a shopper to exit his/her vehicle to take an overall photo of the location? I have a job coming up, but there is major road construction in front of the Sonic and no businesses nearby where I could stand to get an overall pic.

You can still stand in the parking lot to get an overall pic. All modern smartphones have a zoom out feature (to zoom out to 0.5x zoom) on the phone’s camera.

Play around with it to see what I mean.

Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.
So we DO need to expose ourselves before leaving the location. Humm.
I've taken a variety of exterior photos that have been accepted including upon driving up I immediately snap one, or from the back end where there is usually parking, and I've even parked in the front if there's parking available and snapped one. All covert.
Does it need to be the entire building including the canopy?

I mean, if the anxiety is too high, find a place at parking spot at the edge of the lot and take it while in your car….

Nope. I take photos all the time and no one pays attention to me.
You do not need to exit your vehicle to snap a quick photo of the building. I usually take my Sonic building photos through my car window or windshield. Make sure there are no reflections if you do this (put camera against the glass). Tinted windows help you hide what you are doing. Like I keep saying, it takes no more than a second to snap a photo with a smartphone. Don't worry about perfect framing and focusing. Just take the shot and go. You can check the photo after you drive next door and out of Sonic sight. If the photo is not acceptable to you, you can always drive back and take another shot.
Mine are only the front of the building, which can barely be seen beyond the patio seating, menu boards and plants, not the entire place and they've been accepted but the instructions are not very clear. The side is usally more visible to the eye but I did not take the chance on it being unacceptable.
I consider asking for the restroom on a stall shop to be more conspicuous than taking a covert photo of the building as I drive away or as I enter the lot.

Ditto. I always include the front of the building and get the address number if convenient to do so.
There was one Sonic shop that I did and I was able to get the main sign..

There was another Sonic shop that I did and I was able to get the back end of the stalls.

The ones I have done so far are on a busy street and they are have been accepted

I just make sure the Sonic sign is in there somewhere and all have been accepted. Rarely do I get the whole storefront. I also never exit my vehicle for this photo.

As long as you don't take the picture in the drive in stall, you'll be fine. You can take a picture of the entrance from your car when you back out, or before you pull in.

I open the window of the car and take a picture of the front of the building with my smart phone as I'm driving into the lot. The car slows down but doesn't stop completely. Sometimes I get just the front of the building and outdoor seating area, sometimes I get the entire building. Then I park and start the shop. I get all of the other pictures of the reciept and the food, and do the report while I'm eating the food. When i drive away the shop is complete. Unless my son gets impatient starts his dasher app before I'm done... lol.
I have only ever done 1 Sonic. Now the survey requires a restroom visit and an exterior photo? They aren't bonused so probably will be passing on these too.
I really, really wish the old MS company still had the contract to do Sonic. I just don't like doing them anymore. The jobs in my area sit on the job board for many days before they are bonused. I guess no one else wants to do them for $10 either.

The old MSC started them at $5...
