Shop Grades

I just hate when this happens:

Your evaluation of ************ for (insert MSC here) has been reviewed.

Shop Grade : 9

Comments: Great shop, thanks!

Thanks for using the SASSIE mystery shopping system!

If my shop was so great, then why didn't I get a 10?

Because they had to contact you to tell you your grade?
Does a shop grade really matter? Is there a difference between what the say they are going to pay and getting paid more b/c you received a "10" rating.

I feel the shop grade is according to "how well WE rported according to the GUIDELINES, and How much the EDITOR had to revised Our work."

It should be obvious if we receive "0" grade. Our shop was invalidated. If we received a 7+, we would still get paid with criticism.

Some MSC don't use the rating system. It is like U do what the guidelines says or you don't get paid.

If U make copies of Ur report, go back an re-read it, Maybe U will see why U received a "9" instead of a "10".
But there are also companies who take the stance that a 9 was a competent report that required no editing and a 10 is only when the shopper went above and beyond. Since there really is no true uniformity, it is easy to get bent out of shape when your shop was 'perfect' and still got a 9. I haven't worked with them in a while, but Confero used to be a virtually impossible company to get a 10 out of.

LOL!
Yes, I remember when Confero was like that too - then one day they started giving 10s all the time and I was like, huh?

This is why I truly believe that they should not publish grades. Give feedback yes, and certainly have an internal tracking/grading system - but why publish the grades? I think it is like a slam book in middle school in a way.
I could care less what their arbitrary rating systems publish. Ultimately, it comes down to two grades: paid or unpaid.
It really doesn't matter as long as it is paid. Although it does feel good to get a 10!
But of course it does matter. If 20 people request the same shop, your average score and number of shops performed are going to play into who gets assigned the job. Some folks are willing to spend $15 to buy an MSPA certification so that 'all things' are not equal, but ultimately it is going to be your past performance with the company and quality of work, as evidenced by your score and comments, that is really relevant to the scheduler as some record of getting it done without issues.
What really bothers me with the grade is that one editor will give me a 10. I will write a similar report and might get a 8 or 9 with the same great report comment.

With some editors, you can do no wrong, no grade, nothing, which is what I prefer.

I love report clarification, where there is no clarification. Editor will ask a question, ask another question and even a third. I copy and paste the answer right from my report. This will usually will happen when I have had a long day, with long report, or on a Saturday night.
What bothers me about the grading, is you can get 10 10's in a row, then get an 8, and that's the one that's you see everytime you login...but, yes grades do matter.

Live consciously....
If I get a 9, I want to know what kept me from getting a 10. Telling me it was a great shop which required little to no editing just doesn't cut it.
Let me rephrase- yes they do matter, but it isn't a big deal 8, 9 or 10. Those are all good grades, and yes they should tell you why a 10 wasn't given.
It's there way of saying no one is perfect. I don't even bother about the rating anymore. If I weren't a good shopper, you wouldn't be calling me to do a lousy shops that you can't get noone else to do.
To be honest, I think this grade system is like going back to school. I really don't care for it.
