Cricket Audit – photos and 2 pre-visit phone conversations

Cricket Audits have returned. The job fee has been slashed a whopping 25%, and yet they still require 2 pre-visit phone call conversations with an employee plus photos on site at least 2 days after the first phone call. In my view, this is like 3 shops in one which brings the pay down to single digits. I find it most difficult to accept a pay cut, especially when costs of goods have risen drastically over the past year.

My comments only apply to yrs. 2021 & 22. I completed a combined total of 46 Crickets; this number consisted of both regular and audit assignments. My pay ran from $20 to $35, with in store time estimated between 10 and 20 mins. To my recollection, I only needed to wait once during those visits and the reports were a breeze. If, though, the pay has been slashed AND does not escalate, I would not have any interest for 2023.
I think two different MSCs have shops at Cricket stores. I think one is actually a competitor shop.
The call two days before is to tell them you are coming. For me, it took about two minutes for each of them. Then the day of the shop I take a pic of the iPhone signage in the front window as I walk in. I take a pic of the iPhone display in the store. I walk up to the counter and do the compliance review - about 5 - 10 minutes on my phone. I submit and walk out. The total time including the call is about 15 minutes.
They are quick, and I've loved them in the past. Lower pay though??? I don't think so.
In my region the starting pay is actually higher than it used to be, and it went up faster than it used to. It went back down again, I'm assuming because they got a certain percentage done. But it's still higher than it was when it first started. And, when it first started, there was a 7-Day call requirement. That was a massive pain in the behind. It prevented me from doing a lot of locations, because I was very rarely able to plan that far ahead. So, in my experience, it's easier and pays better than it did when it started.

Even with a 2-day advance call requirement, it can be difficult to schedule ahead. I did many of these shops when they started at $20, but a 25% reduction is a deal-breaker for me.
In my area they started at 20 this time around. They went up to 25, then 30, then 35, within a couple of weeks. Then the ones that were left went back down to 20. When the program first started a year or two ago, they started at $15 in my area.
