Uncomfortable doing shop

I applied for a phone shop to a realtor to inquire about properties he has listed. The shop pays $10. The directions are unclear, I do not feel comfortable with the scenario or the what I consider rather foolish questions nor with having a realtor bothering me after the call. I have a shopper rating of 10 with the company having done many shops. The call requires calls on 3 days if the realtor is not available. I really want to cancel the shop but fear I will be given a negative citation. Has anyone faced such a situation and therefore can offer any advice. Thanks.

It is tough to say, James. I can't imagine one negative citation having a big impact if you have a rating of 10. On the other hand, if you rely on this MSC for a lot of jobs, I would hesitate to cancel. Maybe contact the scheduler for guidance.
You might get lucky and the agent won't be there for the 3 calls.
I suggest emailing the scheduler or MSC and tell them what you told us and see if they will allow you to cancel without penalty. I know some that will once you sincerely explain to them what's happening. If they say they will penalize you, then just do it, if need be.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
Yes, I agree with ArkLaMiss... communicate your concerns. I have cancelled shops due to concerns I had about them and/or feelings that I could not do them in good conscience, and have never been penalized for cancelling. As long as you cancel before the date you're supposed to do them, I see no reason why they should give you a citation.

I would not, however, tell them their questions are foolish! LOL.

Don't do any shop you are not comfortable completing.

About twenty years ago, I had a mattress shop assigned to me. When I got the guidelines, I saw that I would need to ask the sales rep, "What gives YOU good sleep?" Ick. Totally irrelevant and creepy. I notified the scheduler as soon as I saw that and told them I could not complete the assignment. I received a "flake" citation and a double score of zero. Big deal. At least I did not have to utter those words to a salesperson.

Doing assignments since the days when reports were handwritten and faxed to the MSC.
I usually suck it up and do the shop, then never do it again, at least not for that amount. But if it is really way past your comfort zone, by all means let the scheduler know. And if the shop description didn't tell you all of those requirements, at least the part about the call backs etc., then don't feel bad about it.
Call at lunchtime when he / she is probably out.
There's been many a shop I wasn't comfortable performing at first...then fell in love with them.
