Anyone else notice the guidelines for the Pizza Hut and Domino's shops are exactly the same ?

I just noticed both shops were released yesterday. Not only that, but if you look over the guidelines, they both are asking for the exact same thing. A medium pepperoni pizza to be delivered. Not only that, but they want multiple photos of the pizza both cut and uncut. The part that gave it away for me though was them asking for the piece of paper showing the store number on every photo. That was a dead giveaway to me that it was Papa John's that's behind this. They were the only pizza shop that I have done that have asked for this piece of paper in every photo. Not only that, but they were the only chain that asked me to cut the pizza and show the bottom of the crust too.

What could be the reason for Papa John's to be offering competitor shops ? The only thing I could think of is they are trying to determine how many pieces of pepperoni were on each pizza. Hence the reason why both for Pizza Hut and Domino's they are asking for a medium only size. Plus I am sure they are asking for delivery so they can get a baseline for delivery times that they could measure their own delivery times.

Just a thought.....

The PH's that are being done in my state are in pretty rural areas without any Papa John's or Domino's presence so it could be some basic market research as to what's offered or how things are made in different areas or perhaps if it makes sense to offer franchising in those areas. Papa John's is not solely corporate and has franchises.

Edit - they've posted some that are in more popular areas, so could definitely be competitor shopping.

Quite possible it's just for market research. The only thing that was a red flag for me was the photos needing the store information. That and also getting the pizza cut and turned over. I remember in the early days PJ's was extremely strict about how the pizza was cut, though with their later shops they just wanted a top only photo.
Had this thought, but most pizza places wanted the picture of the bottom -Pieology, Little Caesar's, Pizza Hut, and now Dominoes. Was there a place that wouldn't want a picture of the crust?
I don't remember little caesars asking for bottom of pizza pics.

I do NOT think PJ is behind this. PH did the Big New Yorker last round and had us count the pepperoni. Now they want to compare a medium pep pizza vs Dominos. They also MANDATING delivery. I only have 1 PH that delivers to my house. So if I want to do more than 1, I will have to go somewhere within the delivery vicinity. I was thinking of using another business in the same shopping center and just waiting there. I don't care what the delivery person thinks. I got it delivered and followed the instructions.

I have not signed up for any yet, because I'm not dying to do this. I can get an 18" costco pepperoni for $9.95. Almost would rather spend my own $10 and not hassle with this nonsense.
Was that the app work for Little Caesar's where they wanted a picture of the greasy box at the end? Or the same MSC that does WinCo?
Little Caesars has been done by a few different companies. I used to do them consistently with one company, but they would pop up on the app once in a while. Yesterday I saw some shops posted by another MSC starting with a C for them.
I was looking over the Domiones guidelines and i noticed a name in the upper right. Is that our first name or last name. I did not see this mentioned in the guidelines
Just saw the pics

I also noticed a comment box at the bottom
What do we comment on. The pizza, the delivery driver

I have not done a PH . There are a couple but i am not in the delivery area
I never did the app one. I did the one on the hokey website with the company in Texas that starts with the letter "S." They paid by check too.

can I get a better clue? about 20 companies starting with a "C". THX
Domino's is shopped? I asked this a while back and got no response. Sorry, but any hints as to the MSC?

I only have a Domino's and a Pizza Hut near me, and have not gotten any notifications of shops for either of them.

Pizza Hut here says that a medium pepperoni doesn't meet the minimum for delivery, but when I notified the scheduler they never replied.

This doesn't surprise me, it's not important until it's crunch time.

If you cancel the shop or just flake, it will be an automatic "1" rating. And possibly, it will be held against you not only for the MSC that has three letters and starts with an "R", but for all the other MSCs the scheduler works for.

I believe the Dominos just started as a competitive shop against the Pizza Hut or whoever was competitively shopping Pizza Hut.

This issue is clearly explained in the guidelines - you are allowed to order a soda as well if pizza doesnt meet minimum

I have parked almost across the street from these pizza places and ordered for delivery using whatever business address I was in front of. I have even said: "I am at the Walgreen's across the street." I just sat in the parking lot and could see the delivery person coming. This strategy worked well for me when I was not near home and on the go with other shops. Or for a nicely bonused location that does not deliver to my home. When I am alone, I make sure I have even had foil, ziplock bag and an ice chest to put the excess in if I was not going to be back home soon.

purpleicee- Did they say anything or question you when they deliver across the street from the business?

There is another shop that I would like to do but they don't deliver to my home but they do deliver to a business that I pass by everyday on my way to work. I also don't know how to screen shot on my phone.

Every time I order pizza I always order from my computer.. I know how to save a PDF file on my computer smiling smiley

Usually you can get a screenshot on a smart phone by lightly pressing your middle three fingers (slightly separated) on the screen for a little longer than you would normally press to open something. There are other ways, so if that is too confusing, you can do a Google search or visit this page: [www.aarp.org]
What kind of cell phone do you have?

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
They have recently been doing Catholic church shops as well. Hope that helps! smiling smiley

@Isaiah4031a - No, the delivery person never has said anything to me about being so close for the delivery. They are more than happy to get a delivery quickly done! But if they ever did, I was going to state I was meeting someone there...(you, delivery person!) - LOL
Why would the delivery person say anything? If you tip the person (I don't know what the max tip is for this shop), but as long as you are not a douche to the delivery driver...I don't know why they would care. You could always say you just got off work and didn't want to drive over there and wanted the pizza ready when you got off work.

I really don't think anything needs to be said.

I don't see the Domino shops. I suppose it is with a different MSC or if it is the same, then there aren't any in my area.

I haven't ordered from Papa John's or Pizza Hut in years and with Domino's it has been at least 7 months. @hbbigdaddy loves his Costco pizza value and I do a similar thing with Sam's. They have Roncadin cheese pizza 3 pack for $9.99 and I throw a bunch of large pepperoni slices also from Sam's on it before baking. Faster, Better value, better tasting than Domino's and I don't have to leave home.

There are several Pizza Huts in my area doing this shop, but none in my delivery area, so I would have to do what @purpleicee does and go near the store and order delivery. I do what he does with the ice chest and zip lock bags. I haven't considered using foil, so that is a good tip.

For Samsung it is the power button and the voumne down at the same time

but a quick google made it sound as if it might be more universal...

Take a screenshot
Press the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time.
If that doesn't work, press and hold the Power button for a few seconds. Then tap Screenshot.
If neither of these work, go to your phone manufacturer's support site for help.
@heywave - The foil is just to wrap each piece separately! And your homemade Sam's sounds good. I believe @hbbigdaddy was referring to the Costco pizzas they make on the spot for you where you can order a whole one at that price. They are good, too, and such a value.

But Costco has major good brand names that also make a version for Costco's Kirkland name brand. For example, Starbucks makes one version of Costco's coffee, Grey Goose makes their vodka, Crown Royal makes their whiskey, Bombay Sapphire makes their gin, and their meats, cheeses, seafood, fruits and vegetables and more, are all from premium suppliers.
