You really don't want them to delete an item once the job is taken. I believe they do delete them once the due date has passed, but meanwhile it is an incredible resource to see what companies you need to be signed up with for future work in your area. Most clients seem to have a 1 year or longer contract with a company. That may include weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly or some other time frame for shops. If you see that a company has advertised a shop in your area and you aren't signed up with them, sign up!! There will likely be future shops.
