Apply for a Credit Card w/a Provided SSN!

No thanks! I suspect applying using a real name and a false id could be grounds for something later! And like the way this shop is not accessible as scheduler gave no links.... False names are one thing but when you put a false SS # that is getting into the no thanks territory.

I did a very involved shop where the mortgage company had a fake persona loaded in under a fictitious SSN. That I could understand. This one wants you to use your real name?
This one WAS real name. Might be even worse with an assumed name. Say they by chance gave you a name/# that matches up to a "PROBLEM" name. You could be right in the middle of a potential crime by using an alias. Using bogus names on a shop with no transactions is one thing. Using it connected to a SS name I would think could border on crime in this day and age. I also understand many of these use coded SS #'s that are not real #'s. That could be even more of a white flag.
I received that exact offer. The company told me when I called up about it that you must use your real name and they provide a social security number. He said, no one had a problem with it before. I decided to not accept the shop.
Very shaky legal ground IMO. I'm sure I've seen verbiage on a credit app that says giving false information is a crime.
If the client is paying up front for the shop, you would think they've gotten it all set up in advance with the MSC.
