Chrysler-Oil Changes

I'm seeing a few shops listed for oil changes at Chrysler Dealerships....curious if anyone has done it and how did it go. Thanks.

My son did one, but it was for the Chrysler dealership that he normally takes the Jeep to for oil changes so it really just paid for a regular oil change. I don't really know how the report is he did it. I've never done a Chrysler dealership.

I've done quite a few. I have two vehicles and haven't paid for an oil change in a couple of years. They are really simple, but do be aware that some dealers are high $$. There is one in my area that I won't sign up for again, because the cost after the reimbursed amount was higher than I am use to paying at my normal oil change place.
I do them whenever I can catch them at the time I need an oil change. The shop is easy. Basically one photo of the exterior, evaluate the service, the waiting area, and keep your receipt.
I've done them. It takes about an hour and it's pretty simple. In my area, they are not too good. My car leaks oil and I have to take it somewhere else to fix it. I finally stopped doing them. But, I would do them if there was another location.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
Every time I've done it, it's been way more time consuming than a quick lube type of place, but I suppose if you consider the cost of the oil change as pay, they're not horrible.
Yes, I had a Chrysler oil change shop scheduled about a year ago. I arrived at their "express" oil change and was told it would be a couple hours' wait. I left, cancelled the shop, and do not intend to ever attempt another oil change for that client.
Easy peasy, but the wait can be looong.

They are a very simple, quick report. Well worth it for the oil change. Some dealerships also wash and vacuum the car.

Yep - for many dealerships - even quality ones its an issue. They barely make any money on them and many times have to pay the lube-tech more than Jiffy Lube because it's expected from "a dealership'. And then - there's a bit more paperwork and computer stuff involved with having a customer copy, warranty copy, file copy, hard copy of the repair order whereas at many other little shops -- it's so much less complicated.

Yes, and the oil changes in my area often run into the $90 range which is beyond reimbursement, so I won't do one for less than $30 fee plus the reimbursement.

Super easy! You are allowed to use dealership coupons, so be sure to check their website and or competitors in the area as most Chrysler dealerships will honor each other's service coupons. I have not paid for an oil change in many years and my car takes synthetic.
I've done several over the years--at three different local dealerships--and can't remember the last time I paid for an oil change for our Chrysler van! That's off the road right now, and of the three remaining cars in our household, two are makes not eligible. I'm trying to get my husband to time his oil changes so I can do one on a shop, but he forgets and pays full price for one. Sigh.

These shops are easy and well worth it, imo.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

I do these fairly often. They are pretty easy. As some said, check on the actual price of the oil change compared to the reimbursement, but when all is said and done it is still a cheaper oil change than paying for it yourself!

Also if the wait time is really long they usually tell me up front and I make an appointment to come another time.
Take the advice of those who say check the price at your local dealer first. I also have been advised to call ahead and make sure they have the specific oil filter your car needs if you are taking in a different brand of car. In recent experience I did an oil change for a different msc who paid for the entire thing and it was $165 at my local dealer. I have two cars, that dealer for one car charges $165 the one for my other car charges $45. Both cars use synthetic and the same number of quarts. Prices seem all over the place at dealers.
I did one last month and I was really happy with it. They were done in about an hour and I only ended up paying $6 over the $75 reimbursement. It had a $20 bonus so I still made a profit. I'm hoping they still do these in a few months when I need another oil change.
The dealerships alternate months. Each dealership is shopped every other month.

I’ve completed several of these. They can be time-consuming and the dealership nearest me rarely answers their phone and NEVER accepts walk-ins (drive-ins). So I always end up making a trip there to be informed that I need an appointment. Then I share the info with the scheduler who asks me to make an appointment and complete the assignment.
The two dealers available in my city only take the brand of cars they sell there so I am hoping perhaps next month another dealer that takes Toyotas will show up.
I did one a few years ago. I ended up at the dealership for almost three hours. It took that long and then they also tried to tell me I needed $200 worth of repairs (I said I'd think about it). I would need a big bonus to do one again because of the long wait.

I called one of the two dealerships nearby to see if they would do a Ford. They said no, and hung up before I could ask anything else. Seemed strange considering all the other people here getting all sorts of cars done.
I did in the past with my Honda. that is about an hour shop. Did it for oil changes. But they changed the minimum years for such shops and I became unavailable.

Shopping Eastern Pennsylvania since 2009

My son tried to do one today, the store has 2 lube techs, one is on vacation, and the other called in sick. Now the MSC doesn’t want him to report a closed location, they want him to reschedule, scheduler request. So I suggested Monday, the MSC wants him to jump through all the hoops all over again tomorrow.
I tried. I did. Twice. in two days Phone is answered by different person each call - both vying for the "This is the attitude you get from the DMV people in the bad part of town. I hate life, and I want you to know it" crown. my vehicle isn't Chrysler - but it's a mainstream domestic vehicle. Each call couldn't ascertain a price. One call there was an appointment "mayyyybe at 11" next Wednesday.. The 2nd call - after 12 minutes - I politely hung up. Went to Jiffy Lube....as usual, fella says hi, takes my key, they do their thing, I give my coupon and pay. No exorbitant paperwork, no complication - just plain simplicity. I'm thinking this one isn't in the cards for me.
