Liquor store shop between midnight and 5 am

This requires you to Quickly take a picture of your hand pulling on the door handle. No purchase necessary. Pays $5. Between midnight and 5 am. Would you do this shop? Me. I'll pass. This is a gas station store shop.

Very curious what MSC this is for? And curious about what they are trying to determine. Maybe to see if it's locked??
I'd do it if the fee took into consideration the hours in which the shop must be conducted.

The fee is $5. This is for IntelliShop. Would you even go to a liquor store between midnight and 5 am, for $5?

It appears they want to know if it's open and if not, is the door locked. What happens if they are closed and you pulling on the door sets off the alarm?
That fee is ridiculous in every way for a shop that must be done between those hours. I'm not necessary worried about other hazards that could come about, but they need to add a zero to that $5.
Liquor laws vary by county and state. This is not, and could not be an everywhere shop. They can't even sell hard liquor in most stores around here. And some counties don't sell alcohol at all or just not on Sunday.. and I have no idea what the rules are about buying alcohol overnight, because the ABC stores aren't open those hours.

For this shop they are only looking to see if the store is open, and if not, is the door locked. These are gas station store shops.
Gas station stores sell way more than alcohol, so this seems a little strange to just be checking if they are open. There could also be security cameras on at all times so what if there is something amiss and you are on camera taking your own photo. $5.00 HaHaHa
How can they tell from a picture if you are pulling on the handle? Is this the front door you are supposed to pull on or the beer cave?

They need to bump that price up for sure. I saw their fast food shop and it seems like they want way too many pics for $5 and reimbursement that you'll see in a month.

I laughed when @KA047 said they need to add a zero to that, but KA is right.

If they are closed, and you're pulling on the door, that does not look good.
I thought this was a joke! For me, it would not be worthwhile because of safety issues.
Fyi I'm pretty sure what the post means is you check the handle on either the walk-in beer fridge or the regular fridges that have beer at a 24hr shop. After a certain time they need to be locked. Not the store doors, just that cooler.

They do want the front door. If they're closed and you pull on the door, tripping the alarm, that creates another problem.

Take a picture of the storefront with the GPS Stamp App.
Pull on the door, to check if the location is open and operating.
Quickly take a picture of your hand pulling on the door handle.

Then is this a liquor store or a gas station?

Gas station store. They do sell liquor.
I read the guidelines and it’s not really that sketchy. It’s a large gas station chain that wants to know if their franchise locations are open the hours that they state online. From what I can tell they are supposed to be open 24 hours so corporate wants to verify that they indeed are open when they say.
Yeah. Not too sketch. But not worth even $10, right? Pay me.

They can do that with a phone call. No need to have someone go there and pull on the door after midnight. I'd be afraid of setting off the alarm.
I am all in favor of opportunities for mystery shopping. I wonder if there is another reason for this task though. It seems reasonable that a chain would have real time information on sales per store. They could see if a store has any sales during that 5 hour window.
I have often pulled on a door that was locked and never set off an alarm. I think you would have to tamper with it more than a slight pull to see if it opens to cause alarms to trigger.
Not so sketchy, this company is due to be open 24/7. However because many are franchise where owners at times make their own rules, they want to know whether they are keeping to company standards. Quite possibly have recieved a good amount of consumer complaints that have made them check on mom/pop owned branches. From the looks of it, only certain ones are being reviewed. In my area the list are the ones that are known to be smaller owned ones rather than the company ones.

It advises to take photo of front door being pulled to see if open/closed. Though that the shop is still considered open if they have doors locked and have a portal, "walk up" open. In some areas after a certain time at night employee are made to lock front door and opperate through a teller window to try and prevent any theft or danger. Since only 1 employee typically is on shift.

But for $7, although a quick task, the late night timeframe is a bit of a stretch. Unless of course you are already out or on a road trip.

I'm seeing them now. For a convenience store. Nope.
With the previous (and wonderful company) all you had to do was take one exterior photo and answer a few questions about if the store was open or closed. They were so quick and easy and pay started at $10. I would do a route of nearby locations and be home in an hour not leaving my vehicle most of the time. But for $7 (must have gone up in fee) and all the handle nonsense...no way

Remember between midnight and 5 am. I'm home and most likely sleeping I don't do shops after midnight.
The guidelines stated to arrive at 11:45 p.m., and see if they locked the door early. If they did, you were to check and see if they had a pass-through window, where the employee could still pass you items you wanted to purchase. If they do, then you mark that they did not close early. It is simply to see if they closed prior to midnight, where you could not make a purchase at all. You do not actually go inside. You just verify if you could have gone inside or could have used the pass through window. You do not go there after midnight up to 5:00 a.m., that part was worded incorrectly on the shop description. But either way, entirely too cheap for expecting someone to go there at that time and verify with photographs and GPS timestamp, etc.

Besides, a lot of times the person that really does go and try to get there just before midnight to make a purchase, usually has a bright red nose.
@purpleicee Thanks for looking into the guidelines. This job is mispriced at $7. There is a super small 15 minute window when you can conduct the shop. It isn't a 5 hour window. So you have to conduct the shop no more than 15 minutes from the closing time that is posted on the website. So if it says closing is at 10:00pm, you must go exactly between 9:45 pm-10:00 pm.

Even if you were inclined to do this shop at this weird hour. Most of these franchise locations are going to close at the same time, so you can't make a route of them since there is that tight 15 minute window.

Odd that they have the conflicting information of shop hours of midnight - 5 am with guidelines specifying the 15 minutes of when you can do the shop.

I agree that most franchisees open multiple locations in the area and you won't be able to do them all in the 15 minute window allowed for this shop.

And the 12-5 AM is totally incorrect. It's 11:45-12:00. Which should pay a premium for such a tight window.

The original guidelines were midnight to 5 am, for $5. The guidelines have been changing.
