A $500 Bonus? I Think We Can Do That.

I just got a call from one of the schedulers for Trendsource. They have two shops about 130 miles away from me, but have absolutely no one else in that area with experience (I've done a boatload of these types of shops for them here in Tucson), and that I could "name my own price".

I told him that four hours driving time was worth at least $500, and I would do them for $500 plus the regular fee. I said I would try to do them in the same trip, but if I had to do them different days, each trip would be $500.

He said he didn't think it would be a problem, and would get it approved and call me back.

I'll keep y'all posted.

Good luck on that one! They did not even approve a PAD to cover bridge toll and $15 bucks for 2 hrs of drive time here. They rather let the shop linger on the board pretty much forever.

They had a business verification in this area last week. It would have been a 5 hour drive round trip. I asked for $400 and never heard from them again. I'm ok with that since that drive was uphill all the way, in the mountains, in construction and traffic for 1/2 the journey.

Congratulations...love to hear that, jut shows they do have the money, but, that would never happen here, too many shoppers.

That's the thing - I quoted $500 just to get rid of him. I really don't expect him to call back, but he does, it's like the old joke - we already settled what you are, now we're dickering over price.

LOL! Sounds familiar.

It was a nice try. I would have been clapping and jumping up & down for you if they'd said yes.

Oh well, wonder if they found a sucker to do it for the lousy $17 originally offered (or do they offer you more in the US?)...
