Can I go back to bed now? Or are we still waiting for competitor shops?

I saw competitor and Kroger pickups. There were a ton of competitor shops in my area this period.
No competitors at all in my area. Ii did snap a few pick up, in-store and fuel.
I was lucky I got my usual in-store shops because I got busy with other things today and totally forgot to check until after 2 PM. No pickup shops, of course.

Ha ha! Sorry. I remember the email that went out was kind of intense about the fuel shops. The gist seemed to be like they were rewards for people doing the in store shops. I thought it was so awkward when I did one that I never wanted to do another.

$10 for a 4 minute visit and a 3 minute report? I call it easy money, not awkward.
Fuel shop requires spending 5 minutes at location

There are not many in store's left in my area. I need two more in store shops to satisfy the requirement. Of course they are the weird "email the scheduler to assign" locations. I have been blowing up her email today that I am afraid to email her again requesting these locations!
The schedulers use Outlook for email so they read them in the order received. If you add to a previously sent email, it'll get bumped to the end of the inbox again.
Pickup jobs have a new requirement.
"NOTE: Choose a Backup Item for each grocery item you order before you place your Pickup order. This will ensure you receive a product of your choice even if a substitution is necessary, and it will help the company track how well Pickup teams are honoring backup item requests"

This was a requirement last round too. Maybe you didn’t read the instructions last month.

We discovered the hard way that instacart has some software glitches on the competitor shops. If you pick the back up items, you will only get the backup items. And if you ask for a refund instead of a different item, you won't get anything at all. I re-did my order sitting in the pickup parking space and got everything that I had ordered originally, not just the backup items. They also won't let you enter your address when you enter your card number for payment, my son had to use my account to buy his groceries because he couldn't pay for his groceries on his account. The address was already saved in my instacart app, so we got permission from the scheduler and made the order through my account.

Kroger's software is a LOT easier to use than instacart.
I did not get any pick ups last month but got a few Kroger this month. I see the new back up item requirements. My question is, say I select Kroger tomato sauce and list Hunts Tomato sauce as a back up. The Kroger costs less. If Krogers is out of stock and they give me Hunts do they charge more for the Hunts? I have made up a list. There are a few things that I cannot ask for back ups on - like the 10 pattie Kroger ground beef- there is no comparable product- so not sure what to do about that maybe just pick up on when I do the instore shop.

I don't know what your locations are like but mine is very awkward. Thanks for your thoughts though.
Yes, they'll charge you the item price even if it's more than the item you picked.
Per their policy, that's not what is supposed to happen: "If you accept the substitution, you will be charged the lower of the price of the item you ordered or the price of the substituted item; substitutions will not increase the cost of your order."

Correct Kroger charges you for the cheaper item which was your original request. Publix and other competitors typically charge you for what you received

Is this if they make the substitution rather than if you choose a substitution? I think if you choose the item then they charge that price. If not, I'm putting filet mignon as my backup for everything.
I'm pretty sure the policy applies whether you select a specific substitute item or just generically indicate that you will accept substitutions. It says that substitutes will not increase the cost of your order and does not distinguish between a substitute the store selects or one you preselect.

You are only allowed to select certain similar items as substitutes. You cannot order an apple and then select a filet mignon as your substitute.

I would like to order frozen salmon on my next pick up. It is Kroger brand frozen salmon=- 32 ounce package for $15. If I have to select a back up item it would have to be a 1.25 ounce package that is only $8.99. I do not want to get a smaller package if the larger is not in stock.. When I hit backup items all smaller packages came up which means I would pay more for less. Do you think I need to select a back up for this item? I could select fresh salmon but that costs a lot more and I doubt they could find an exactly 2 pound package. Any advice?
You should click the do not substitute option for that. Because there is no acceptable alternative to that 2 lb plank of wild caught salmon. I know because I buy that plank of wild-caught salmon quite often. Almost all of the other salmon sold at Kroger is farm-raised garbage, and too expensive.
I pondered how many customers choose a specific back up; if I was a regular shopper I would select best available for most items and maybe choose 1 or 2 specific things. I may be wrong but it seems like ordering 8 items and choosing 8 specific backups may "out" me as the mystery shopper.
I agree making 8 specific items in one order would seem strange. Sone items do not have exact subs so best item would seem more realistic.
'Best item' is subjective. Club soda was out of stock so the shopper inside store substituted 36 boxes of baking soda!
That sounds like the Kroger pink salmon. It tastes terrible. Nothing like wild sockeye. I ordered it a couple of times. First time the store didn't have it and substituted with something farm raised in a box. I declined it when I got to the store. Second time at a different store they had it, and that's when I learned that it is not good salmon.

I missed out for this month. Were the new shops for July posted today or yesterday?

Yesterday
I've never received email notification for when these Kroger shops are released. Weeks later I receive emails from the scheduler, offering the one or two non bonused $9 SCRAPS that the other shoppers didn't pickup. Within the last 6 months, I've managed to get a few (within 20 mi radius) thanks to whomever posts here that they've been released.

Checking job boards regularly is part of the job.
Did anyone receive payment for last month's shops yet?
