BJ's Brewhouse

I have not seen shops for these in awhile. Has anyone else?

I think it's been a couple of months.
None here either and I still have most of the gift cards I purchased at xmas time! They should return at least long enough for me to use them up!

That is a bummer. I think I used mine up.

BJ's suspended its MS program.

That's a shame. It was a nice family shop.
BusyBeeBuzz, just curious how you know this?
I did some BJ's shops from time to time...but let's be honest....There was NO money to be made on these and you could go over the total with tax and tip. Also, the report was longer than some other casual dining places. Some talk about not wanting to do shops like these for other clients, but why would they do them for BJs then?

The MSC that was doing them does not really pay a fee for any of their food shops that I am aware of (at least here in CA). It was reimbursement only.

I have soured some on the MSC that use to have them. I would like to see them return with ANOTHER msc.
I did a test shop of BJs for the five guys MSC last month. The report was super easy. Hopefully they get the client.
@a-echo....

That would be awesome if another MSC would grab the client. I have found that other restaurants on the five guys MSC have been easy forms and not much narrative. Even if there was no pay and the report was like a typical report for the five guys MSC...that would be a VAST improvement over the current/last MSC it was with.
Right. As I was doing the report, I was thinking, "Even if this report morphed into more closely resembling a five guys report, it would STILL be easier than the other MSC's report."
I remember the MSC that has Five guys used to have Red Robin a number of years ago and that report was SUPER easy.
i miss those. I remember that same MSC having Outback Steakhouse. I think the last one I did was in 2007 or 2008.

I did some of the Red Robin. I liked them.

That MSC actually used to have the BJ's shops for a couple of years. I can't remember when they first got the client or when the client moved, but I still have the BJ's Guidelines from January 2012. It was a really, really easy shop, much easier than the MSC that had them before and the one that had them after. I hope they win the client back. They certainly need more clients. They seem to have hardly any left.

I thought that might have been the case, but I couldn't remember for sure if they had them and I was waiting for someone else to verify that. I must have only done a couple of them back then, I would love to see them with the new one.
Is there a way to find what ms companies do the specific shops? I’m newer and looking to add

I remember doing Ruth's Chris for the 5 Guys MSC, but it was a long, long time ago. Also, Panera Bread.

I did Panera with them, but never saw any Ruth's Chris. I would have jumped on that.

There are no restrictions on the ordering requirements.

Check your email. I got an email today asking shoppers to fill out a short survey for us to obtain important data for the new client. It looks like they want to pay via gift card. I didn’t take the survey yet.
I just got the email from the SASSIE msc. They are exploring a gift card reimbursement instead of paying you for what you spend. That is what the "survey" is asking about. So if you spend $75 on your first visit, they would give you a $100 digital gift card as payment. I am not sure how I feel about this, but it seems like they are just being cheap and not wanting to pay.
Thinking of how I can game this... Do a shop, spend $20, and get "reimbursed" with the $100 gift card?! It's not cash, but I just quintupled my BJ's credit.
I am guessing this might eliminate the need for a 1099? If so, I would be all for it. BJS has an extensive menu and I could make good use of the GC.
1099 only comes into play with $600 or more in shop fees, right? How many of these are you going to do in a year to have that much taxable income from? I don't like spending my own $ up front to not get it back. If they want to go with the gift card plan, then give me a gift card to go use. Of course, they don't want to send gift cards out to flakey shoppers, so that would ensure the best shoppers got the assignments.

I got the same survey but wasn't even thinking that I could spend only $20 and then still get the $100...that makes the gift card option more enticing, when originally I was not enthusiastic about it at all.

You don't think they will have a minimum order requirement? Doubt you will get out for $20. Maybe $40, but not $20.
