That is such a dumb fee! I mean, sometimes you have to make three phone calls! No way Jose!
Some silly person or persons took some of these shops…they must really need three dollars!
Yes they are worth a lot more

Who does these? Perhaps people hard up for $3.00 who are forced to ask a series of questions that are time consuming for the day care center- issue is in my area as an example all local daycares whether franchise or not are totally booked and most are wait listed for months if not years- so employees are not going to give you a sales pitch or answer 50 questions when they have a wait list for students. The latest posting involves asking about 3 kids- which required multiple quotes as to cost for week with many ancillary questions. Just a real pain in the rear end for $3.00
I see the dates for these cheapo $3 shops has been extended- guess the cheapo company hopes that with a longer time frame some hard up person will take them. Not me that is for sure.
Cheap company sending emails alerting shoppers to these great shops still low fee. Shame on them! Some silly person just took some in my area.
The only shop I ever took for 3 bucks was a place I knew was closed (remodeling) and I would get a $3 closed store fee.
I did those shops for sometimes $15 a shop and even then, it was difficult to ask so many questions without raising suspicion. Once I was asked if I really had kids or I was gathering data for a survey. Feigning ignorance, I asked what did she mean and the day care lady said that some caller said that she was gathering data for a survey company. I am sure this is not how the shop was supposed to be conducted.

I have done these in the past for the company doing them now as well as another company. When I called and started to ask the long list of questions, I was informed that the staff was instructed not to disclose any financial information such as price of program, registration fees, supply fees and and late fees for late pick up unless I came in for a tour. One told me that competitors had been calling to try and undercut their fees so that they will only discuss this with real parents who had a real interest in the school. They all added "we are very competitive in price" so I believe they know they are being shopped. When I said I was unable to come in right away I was told that I was not really serious and to call for a tour when I was really interested.

I did a bunch of $4 internet shops early this summer, just looking up car dealership registrations. Once I knew where to look, it was super easy, and I banged out ten in under an hour (including the reports). But, to talk to people? Eeek. I don't even like when I have to make a phone call before a shop (I'll do it if the pay is decent/works out to a decent hourly rate), but to have to call about three kids would take forever.
