One Chip Retrieval Shops...$$$$$$

You can package them all up in to larger boxes (16x16x16) recommended. I sent a few shipments out today, and about 120 packages fit in that size box. On the shipping form, you just list which stores the inventory is from and then request a single label for the box. Thats how i did it, anyway. I'd anticipate after my 15 locations are complete, I'll have 3 large boxes to ship.

To those asking which MSC - If you've ever done recalls for this company, you'll know which one it is by reading the comments here. There was a (probably unintentional) hint given. I'm a little jealous, though. No locations around me. Hopefully they're posted in waves and I'll still have a chance.

I'm also surprised at how much product shoppers are finding and buying. Why did the manufacturer think it would sell so well that there's so much stock? Are there that many people that purposefully want to burn their faces off? Are we actually living the movie "Idiocracy"?

The one chip challenge has been on Tiktok for a while, but a child died recently and that's what's driving the recall.
Apparently, this company did another one chip challenge last year, so I guess they must have some idea how it would sell based on last year's sales. Some of the store indicated to me that it had been selling pretty well, and they had to keep it behind the counter because there was so much theft of the item.

Surely after this may years of shopping you aren't using only one card for everything? I rotate cards. Gas stations will shut you down after 2-4 stops in 2 hours. You could always pay with cash.
Well here’s the deal, the company initially indicated that they would cover each location with a $20 advance. I was not prepared for the amount of product found. I will surely use a different strategy tomorrow.

Each location averages around $300 out of pocket for purchases. Cash is absolutely not an option. At least I wouldn't walk in to any of these convenience stores, which are not the nice ones, with a wad of $100s in my pocket!

@Cassiespark my last location was over $500. I can’t even imagine carrying $5 in cash while completing this project. I wish the company had been better prepared to distribute adequate advances.

My ONE & ONLY LOCATION today had SIXTY SIX UNITS -- count 'em --- 66 units! $659.34. So BEFORE I paid for them, I called my CC Company and explained what I was about to do, and asked that it be approved. The CC Representative notated it and then when I paid for it less than 10 minutes later, it went through with no problem. But there's NO WAY I'm doing another one of these!!! PHEW! That's a chunk-o-change!!!! I ended up packing them in 3 boxes, and will drop them off tomorrow at a FedEx location near where I'm having lunch with a friend.

Agree, I would call my bank and let them know that you're planning on making these purchases and that will stop a lot of the fraud problems. It's an unusual spend pattern for you and they're doing you a favor or they think they are! But you can generally get ahead of it with a quick phone call.
Anyone find them still sealed in boxes? You think we have to take them back out or could we just tape boxes together and send it as one package? I had over 600.

I don't know what size boxes they are packed in, but I suggest mailing each original box separately. There are size limitations on boxes that can be shipped, and you need to be sure to avoid being charged for dimensional shipping (which happens when boxes get large but are light in weight).

I did 15 stores and spent $4600. I shipped today. I'm a bit hesitant to accept more stores, not knowing how long they will take to reimburse...

How does this work? You are buying chips that need to be taken off the shelves?
The rep checks the retail area to make sure they have been removed and then buys the pulled units and back room stock from the store.

The one (& only) store I did yesterday had 4 sealed boxes of 10 per box and 26 loose packs. By loose I mean it's a small cardboard container, about 5" long, 3" wide and 1" deep, but these are at their largest parts....the box is oddly shaped (the infamous chip must be inside the box, inside of some sort of container). So I found 3 boxes at home and got all of them in 3 boxes and printed off the labels. I left the 4 taped cases that had the 10 each inside as they were and included those in the boxes I shipped. You have to let them know how many boxes you have total, and they email you the same # of labels to match the # of boxes, so I don't think you could tape them all together and send them as one box.
I went ahead and taped four of the Paqui boxes from the same store together. The FexEx website said you could as long as the boxes were the same size. FedEx accepted it with no question.

I got an email from the company about 2 hours ago with instructions "If you purchase large quantities of product and want an advance for reimbursement..." The email subject line starts with "IMPORTANT NOTICE" and is from retrieve@... so check your email so you can get your out of pocket expenses reimbursed before those credit card payments come due.

Thank you! That's helpful information! Not that I'm planning on doing any more, but others may find that helpful to know.

I also got that email this morning and emailed them asking for an advance. I haven't received a reply yet, nor have I received my "standard" advance.

Where did you put the inventory sheet that is supposed to go inside the box?
@MW [QUOTE: I also got that email this morning and emailed them asking for an advance. I haven't received a reply yet, nor have I received my "standard" advance.]

When did you request your "standard" advance? For the additional advance did you request ACH? Or FedEx?

I'm in CA. I sent my ACH info email Fri 9/08 at 3:30PM so they were probably closed for the weekend. My "standard" advance was pending on Monday 9/11 and "settled" with Monday's date 9/11.

Hope you get both advances soon.

I sent them my ACH info first thing Monday morning. I was hoping to receive it this morning. If it doesn't hit my bank overnight tonight, I will call them tomorrow.

I've worked with this company every now and them for many years, and I like them a lot, but they have, at times, taken a couple of months to pay, and they don't already respond to emails or calls.
@MW, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Hopefully it gets resolved quickly.

I've been able to speak with someone at the company twice when I was doing this job. I had a couple of questions on site though, not pay questions.

Also everyone who hasn't shipped yet, do not go larger than what @Cassiespark mentioned, a 16x16x16 box (thank you Cassie for stating how many you fit in that size box 120). I didn’t find this out until I was getting ready to box mine up. At the very bottom of the form you fill out, it says, "Please use boxes less than 16"x16"x16" to avoid damage during transit." I had already gotten boxes that were 19x11x17 so now I have to get different boxes and return the others.
Make sure you’re using PayPal business debit card for everything. Whatever goes out for the business comes back to PayPal plus you get cash back. That’s how I do it.
Apparently not. I just researched the forum using the words retrieval and retrieve and this is the only thread that comes up.

That's a good idea. A good cash back card could go a long way doing retrievals.

In other circumstances, where the name brand, or the client hasn't been mentioned, I would be more than happy to tell you. I don't know much about chips, I don't know all the name brands and somebody already said that the hints were very close to the actual name of the product. So, I'm sorry..
