Outback Steakhouse

New Outback shops posted, but it's not available for self assign. Crossing fingers that I get one. I haven't been in ages, but I do like their bread.

That sounds interesting. I didn't know they were shopped. Any possible hints as to where to look? Thanks

It's a really SMART company to work for.

Okay. Thanks!

If I get in the car now, I can get to one in about two days! If my area happened to have them they are long gone. Also possible we just didn't get them.
I saw them in my area. Pays $5 and reimburses $75. Must get two non-alcoholic drinks or one $7 alcoholic one, two entrees where one must be steak, appetizer (if offered) and dessert (if offered). I did some calculation based on my local prices and tax rates. If I got the least expensive steak dinner (6 oz sirloin) and the least expensive overall dinner (plain burger), and assuming the server suggested an appetizer and dessert and I got the cheapest item on those menus as well (Mac and Cheese bites and Skillet Cookie), my out-the-door bill would be $70 -- and I don't really like any of those things. If I got mid-priced items that I liked, like the small Prime Rib, the total would be $108 and I'd be out $33 and my time for the meal. This is one of those cases, for me, that the juice ain't worth the squeeze.
Weird. all the Outback shops have just disappeared from the site. Hopefully, they are re-doing them.
Did anyone check to see if this was regional or nationwide? I'm assuming it's the Sassie platform with the "smart" company basked out of Ohio that used to do Jack in the Box? I don't see any of them out here in California. I didn't even see the sassie notification they were posted or available.

If reimburse was $75, I would do it. I don't go to Outback on my own dime, so a $75 reimburse would be fine if it's not a narrative-intense report or requiring the dopey pictures that Red Lobster is.

Search 999 miles. Be prepared for a drive.
There were many near me that are now gone — I didn’t apply as my spouse doesn’t like the place and it didn’t seem like the reimbursement would cover the meal (although I think the lunch shop would have). Perhaps they were quickly assigned? History shows that shoppers love it when a new restaurant shop appears.
I applied and all three disappeared this morning. It appears likely they were all pulled rather than assigned, for some reason. I hope they come back!
did you get Sassie notification about the jobs? How did you know they were there to apply?

If you received Sassie notification...what states were listed? I didn't get one for California.

I never got notification but had logged in to look for a different shop I had been keeping an eye on and saw them 2 days ago.

I saw them posted in my area this morning. I went looking because of this thread. I was going to ask my son if we wanted to sign up for them. I guess I should do some research first.
I saw them on Presto, but never received an email from the MSP directly. I am in the Midwest.
The Outback near me closed after TXRH opened about a mile away.

Perhaps the MSC was trying to convince the client to sign up for mystery shopping and was given a trial number of shops. Once that number was met, the rest disappeared?

Just a guess.
I was assigned one and it still on my log, so maybe they've assigned all they need to at this point and pulled the rest. Or maybe, everyone jumped on them. I figured I try it. I love wedge salad and it's one of the few places around here that offers it. Hoping lunch prices are a bit lower than dinner so I can stay somewhat near reimbursement.

All pulled off board around here. in eastern NC.

Koko, I think you're right, they were all there this morning but when I was just on the site looking for other stuff to do they weren't there. Hmmm...

Were you able to complete it or did they end up pulling it?
I did it today. There are no more listed, but I'd do another. It was a typical dining shop with photos and timings etc. I went over reimbursement by quite a bit, but the food was good and we ordered both an app and a dessert, and drinks. I'm hoping to get the full reimbursement. I wasn't sure about ordering the extras because the server only asked generically. He didn't recommend anything specific. The report asked what was recommended, so I think it could be clearer in the guidelines that they want a specific listing of a menu item, not just, "appetizer" or "dessert." I hope more will come in the future.

I know at TXRH they will specify an exact appetizer or drink by name. Perhaps that's what they are trying to determine at Outback. Would you like to try the XYZ appetizer or the ABC desert?
@MsJudi

How much narrative? Similar to a TXRH? what could you compare the report to that would be similar?
I would compare it to ACL dinner report, maybe not quite as much narrative. Much easier than a Coyle, much longer than a TXRH.

The scheduler told me that they are only doing so many a week and that each week they would pop up again.
that is similar to how Wells Fargo is shopped with another MSC. They don't do all the locations immediately. They post them all and when the amount they need for a given period is met, they shut them off until they are ready to start the next "round."

Might be better to do it this way for Outback too, but it seems like they are probably just doing so many each period and filling those instead of making them all open and closing them off once they reach their set number.

I have a question on the appetizers and desserts. Will we paid if we don't order an appetizer or dessert?

I'm not sure, mine required either an app or a dessert. If it's required and you don't, you risk not getting paid.
