Restaurant shops?

It seems like people are posting about restaurant shops. So far, I've gotten Five Guys, Red Lobster, and TRH. The RL one was terrible and we won't be doing it again. TRH was awesome and so is FGs. Can someone give me hints as to where they are getting other ones? Maybe I am just not fast enough to get them when they are posted (how do people know when they are posted?) or maybe I am not signed up with the right MSCs? There are plenty of chain restaurants near me, like everyone you could think of. Thanks!

It's hard to cook seafood correctly. And I'm not sure RL pays for qualified cooks, their managers aren't qualified to run the places either. Only 1 or 2 waitresses on staff and doing illegal tip sharing when the wait staff is only getting $2.13 per hour. Forcing the wait staff to give 5% of their tips to back of house, who are getting paid far more.

The last two times we did RL the french fries were very greasy and limp. I mean, how can you screw FF's up when it's done in a production line manner? So we stopped going there.

Since then I found a local franchise for seafood that is prepared and you bake at home. The quality is top-notch (they originally sold to restaurants) and the price is reasonable. I can have reasonably priced adult beverages at home too!

The pandemic forced me to be a better cook at home. The few times we have gone out to eat, I find I don't miss the places I once liked.

[Be prepared for higher than usual number of restaurants to go bankrupt in the next couple of years. Along with a significant number of office space owner changes.]

Please tell me what is TRH.

Haha, I believe it's actually Texas Roadhouse.
Well if the original poster has a PhD, and is a new shopper, I'd suggest Coyle. I've never done anything but their fine dining, about 4-5, but they are definitely an acquired taste.

A Closer Look has restaurants, but I have never figured out how to get them.

Intellishop used to have fast food years ago.

Sentry had a bunch of fast casual shops in Texas 10 years ago. I believe they still do. Since they are based in Texas most of their shops are in the Southwest I do believe. Check out the 17 state thread first.

Can you point me to this "17 State" thread? Is it a thread that discusses which companies have shops in which states? That would be amazing. I am so sick of registering for random companies only to discover that more times than not they don't have any shops in my area. I can't remember which company it was, but one at least did a screen before I applied and let me know they didn't have shops in my area--that was great!
Brad,

Just go to the latest in the menu in the blue box at the top of the page. If you don't see the thread, click on "MORE" at the bottom of the page. Keep doing that as the thread is less than a week old and you should be able to find it.

The thread will not tell you the company that has the shops, just that the company is shopped and some experiences while doing the shops. Apparently the 17 state thread tells me that they are no longer with the company I used to do them for 10 years ago.

Go to the new shoppers area on this board. Read, read, read those posts.

Open the Excel spreadsheet which is a vetted listing of companies that the people here approve of and will vouch are real mystery shopping companies that will pay you for completing jobs. Apply for them every day until you've registered for at least 100 companies. I think it's been suggested 10 a day. Then you should begin to see e-mails asking if you want to do shops, IF they are in your area.

They will not all be restaurant shops.

LOL, the Fuzzy Taco (no idea what that is) thread? I thought it was some thread about shops broken down by 17 states! Oh well.
100 companies?? Not sure that will work where I live, but I have applied to a many and have found a stray shop here and there. Today I took someone's advice and checked Sassie for the 90210 zip to see how the other half lives. There were 1223 shops in a 20 mile radius, whereas I have 15 shops. It was an aha moment--so THAT'S how people are making real money off of mystery shopping!!!

What was wrong with the RL shop? I've never managed to get one, sounds like I should be thankful.

FWIW, I love me some RL for their Endless Shrimp deal. There are 3 locations in my area that I frequent, and all of them do a fine job cooking the crustaceans.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
