I think I got dropped from Whole Foods

Been Doing the Whole Foods shops for the better part of the year consistently getting a score of 10. I let the scheduler know a month in advance that I had a two week trip to Japan planned and would not be able to do the first shop of the month. He did not schedule me for the second shop of the month and won’t respond to my emails. Pretty disappointed.

I'm sorry to read that. I have had some kind of interesting interactions with my scheduler but for the most part they have been okay. I've seen some reports of others having bad experiences with their scheduler but it seems to be a kind of rare occurrence.

It would be nice if the scheduler would at least respond to you to let you know that they have moved on if that is what happened.

To me, I try to treat everyone I work with as if we have a working relationship and to be human with them, thanking them, wishing them a good weekend, etc. I notice that some of the people I work with respond in the same way while others seem extremely matter of fact with no added niceties. For some schedulers, I suspect we're just cogs to fill their needs to complete their work. For other schedulers, I'd like to believe that we are fostering a working relationship and that it is mutually beneficial and at times, mutually understanding and flexible when it can be.

Sorry to be long winded about it, maybe I'm trying to fill up the void of no other responses. None of us really know what happened but can only postulate and possibly commiserate.

For anyone else reading this who might be in the same boat - I had a similar circumstance and asked to move my shop dates after the shop had been assigned to me. Luckily, I didn't ever have to cancel but just move some dates around.

I'm not on the Whole Foods rotation, even though I've tried! In Nov last year the scheduler reached out to me and asked if I could do some shops to finish up the year. I did 15-20 in Nov and the 1st week of Dec. The scheduler was so helpful and communicative and I didn't turn down anything they asked me to do. I hoped that would get me on the rotation, but it did not. I emailed once I was finished with the year to ask if I could get on the list. I followed up a month or so ago and nothing. I was totally ghosted. sad smiley

Yes same here. I wish I knew that I would be giving up the shop. I might’ve been able to negotiate something better.
Currently they seem to be only assigning after the previous ones have been shopped so I don't have the end of the month shops listed either.

Rmkeith -- I think what you were asked to do was another/different contract that has ended.
It’s funny you say this because I was searching the forum for a post like this. If we’re talking about the same scheduler, ML, are his initials, he dropped me too. A few months ago a tree fell and cut the power to the entire block. I didn’t have electricity for 3 days and I had a shop scheduled. I explained this to him and even sent a photo of the fallen tree. He seemed sympathetic and told me to let him know when things were better, which I did towards the end of the week and he responded positively. Yet I never received any more shops even though I always received a 10. I also would change my dates to help him out or take on last minute shops. That’s pretty messed up
I also want to add it’s crazy I was dropped but recently I saw them post for new shoppers…and no I didn’t sign up
That’s the one! He won’t respond to my emails. So unprofessional. I think if he has to find a temporary replacement he just gives the whole job to the person.
Yes! Within hours I saw him send out an email saying I’m looking for new shoppers! I replied to that and said I’ll be back it’s just this one time I can’t make it. No response.
Maybe! That makes sense. They first had me order Whole Foods for delivery and, after a couple of jobs, told me to hold off because they'd given me the wrong instructions. I ordered Amazon Fresh for delivery the rest of the year.

This is interesting. I didn't know they were ever posted. I thought you had to be a member of some secret club smiling smiley which apparently you can also get expelled from. Sorry for those who lost the job because life got in the way!

This thread made me afraid to say no when I was asked to re-shop within a week. It does help the grocery bill.
I have not heard of any do-overs for these and am now intrigued. Were you asked to shop a location again after you originally shopped it? Do you know why the shop needed to be redone?

My guess is because they delivered outside the delivery window. Because melty ice cream never seems to qualify for a re-shop.
I might be about to get the ax. I think my job was just posted. Not sure how I feel.

Did anyone have issues with zip codes changing for stores?

Does anyone know if these will continue into 2024?

I think they are.

I got an email to schedule them for December and in an email exchange between the scheduler and I, he indicated that they would do the same for January.

I don’t know this for a fact, but I’ve heard that Amazon/Whole Foods does this shop as part of a regulatory compliance suit (info from an acquaintance who’s high up at WF).
Good to know, thank you.

That happend to me I had to go out of town for a work trip and told the scheduler I could not do the whole food shop in November. I then e-mailed him and said I could do the shops in December, but NOT ONE e-mail back. He was previously good in communicating when I had to change one date to a later date. I always got 10/10 on my reports, but I guess we are just "warm" bodies doing work for them and they don't care.
I have posted previously about scumbag scheduler ML...this person is just the worst spineless person there is.
In what ways? What have they done to you?

Anyone willing to hint the msp? I'm always going to WF so it could be a good run for me.
Was it just me then, that read the headline as, "I think I got groped..." and came to find out more?

The parent company is totally into scientific studies on how to do everything and for whatever reason they started doing the project, the team added other parameters that they examine as well. I do not believe there is anything about compliance because I do deliveries for other supermarkets as well and they all do the exact same process. I have been doing them since the pilot started, two years ago. After the first few months that nothing was happening based on what the instructions assumed it would happen, the WF team appear to get the data and have tried various changes on the delivery time and packaging. Lots of reshops at the start of the program. I did one location 5 times in a month.
