After the Reveal the Attendant Said:

(Paraphrasing)
"Oh, I guess it doesn't matter anymore that I didn't ask about the E/M card. And you don't even have to take a photo anymore either, do you!"
I was somewhat taken aback. "What?"
She explained how she was informed that in the next round of site inspections for her gas station, she no longer would need to ask about the E/M card, nor would a photo of the employee be needed.
I simply replied that my current guidelines required me to note if the employee asked about the card and I was still required to take the photo (or of the counter).

So, in thinking about this afterwards, I wonder if those so-called "Pilot" shops that were offered by the E/M MSC in September are a hint of what may be coming in the new year.

There is another brand where the survey gives points off for not having something on the pumps but several managers have said that it is no longer required. Probably just another case of the MSC or client neglecting to update surveys and instructions where we're concerned.
The email they sent out yesterday said something about the new shops being streamlined or something like that. Haven't done any yet, so I assumed it would be the new format.
If the Register or Card Reader in the store asks if you on the read out if you will be using your E/M Rewards the requirement is fulfilled. In this case the Attendant gets credit for addressing the Rewards program. They get the Certificate if this is fulfilled AND they are wearing a logo uniform shirt (or acceptable C store logo shirt) and an appropriate name tag. The Attendant may decline the photo. In that case you take a picture of the counter, mark the photo was declined and you record what they were wearing.
