Race to Zero is over Field Agent Do Work No Pay

A couple of days ago I was on Field Agent. They had a Just for Fun! category listed at $0.00.

They want you to go to a designated location and take a pic of the best halloween display in the store. No pay and they point out they are not charging their clients for this. You can do up to 20 of these! I am failing to see where the fun part is.

Each submission gets you into a drawing for a $25 Field Agent credit. I suppose this means money since you wouldn't buy anything from them.

If you are gonna lie to me, tell me that the drawing is for a million bucks, not $25. I didn't see this listed yesterday, but it was there today with fewer locations than Monday. These people have no shame.

I was wondering when somebody was going to bring up this gem. I've been trying to think a little better of Field Agent lately because believe it or not, they've actually had a few series of jobs in my area in the last several weeks that were decent pay for the work involved. But at some point, they're bound to remind you of who they are, and here it is.

Yeah, I'm going to schlepp around a colossal home improvement store looking for Halloween displays for no money. I've reached the conclusion they've got to be trolling the shoppers by now. "Hey Phil, you know the one where we make them circle the supermarket five or six times, taking five or six photos each cycle, and we pay them 3 freaking dollars? And some people actually take them! Well let's try this: Make 'em go searching for Halloween displays in a store bigger than several European countries, for nothing! Haw haw haw haw haw ..."
I never do anything for free or for the possibility or the chance of winning something (looking at you Market Force lol) I get paid to do the wild thing.
I like FA. I average about $200 per month from them. While not a lot, for the work involved on the jobs I accept, I don't find it too bad. It is easy for me to take on a few low paying jobs while I'm out on a route. I even have done well at the jobs where you must locate a specific UPC. Of course that said, the UPC jobs, just like the Halloween jobs mentioned in this thread, would not be worthwhile just going out on a whim and doing. Even the Halloween job states only accept it if you happen to be in the store. If I'm in one of the stores already, I have no problem snapping a picture for a contest. It takes all of three seconds.

I think it was back over the summer FA had a TON of jobs where you had to go into a store and look for and scan barcodes for several dozen products in a given category. If I recall correctly, you had to take photos, too. There were like ten jobs (all different categories) for each store. I think the jobs started at $8, but I didn't attempt any until it reach $12. I attempted several times to complete jobs, but there were no directions on what to do if a store didn't have a specific UPC. I knew if I could not scan a bar code, I'd run the risk the job would automatically be denied without even reaching an actual person. It was also no way to comfortable take the dozens of photos they wanted. I think the jobs ended up paying out $25 each right before their deadline.

Just last week I did a product review gig. Not only did I get reimbursed and paid for the gig, I got $15 from Ibotta for submitting my receipt through their app.
Thank you all once again for teaching me never to take a survey or do a job for a 'chance' to win anything.
I do miss the carboard recycling bundle shops FA used to have.. I would string lots of them together when traveling on secondary highways where it took me less than 5 minutes per location to snap the pics and answer the questions

The Tone Loc reference got you a like.
Those were pretty sweet. There was also a period where that would overlap with some of the online ordering at the same store.
