Gift cards/certificates yes, but the $10 bonus certificates may show up on the receipt as a coupon or discount, so I was going to ask the scheduler about that also. I bought a bunch of those yesterday.

Why would you ease the burden of the mystery shopping company? Use coupons and the gift certificates for when you're going in there to eat out of your own pocket. TR shops are reimbursement only, there is no incentive at all to reduce the burden for the mystery shopping company.
It’s pretty easy to go over the $50, especially if you have more than one guest.

This offer will probably come back for the holidays. Last year, the bonus cards operated like normal gift cards.

When I did one with the wife several months ago, we were under the $ 50 limit..
I had a shop this week and had bought the online gift card with the $5 bonus for every $30 spent. I bought two of these cards. Total with tip was $77 (my better half wanted a beer and we were traveling and both wanted leftovers for lunch the next day so we opted for lager sizes). The server had me scan all my gift cards into the table side payment kiosk and the email receipt simply have the total and then “total paid $7.00.” The shop was quickly approved.
My understanding is you can use gift cards for your shop, but you can't accept any discounts ( like the 10% military/Veterans discount) during the shop. I don't quite understand that.
