Do you consider digital scales drug paraphernalia?

Are you limiting your question only to digital scales sold at gas stations?

I would look at what other products are displayed near the scales.

It is pretty suspect, IMO. I don't understand why someone would go to a gas station to buy a digital scale unless they don't want a paper (or electronic) trail.

Yes, I do. They are usually displayed near the grinders and other drug stuff.

I think most of the scales bought at gas stations are used for drugs, but that doesn't make them automatically classified as paraphernalia as they have plenty of legitimate uses as well.

As far as how to report them on a shop, though, it depends on the brand. Some specify small digital scales are drug paraphernalia, some consider them not paraphernalia. Others don't say one way or another. For the ones that don't specify, I usually don't count them unless they are next to pipes and stuff, and in those cases it wouldn't even matter because the pipes were enough.

There used to be at least one shopped gas brand that specified scales as paraphernalia and an infraction but I don't think the instructions are that specific anymore. On the form, check yes and then see if scales comes up as one of the choices. If it doesn't, then change the answer to no.

I did a revealed audit at a cell phone repair store once. Besides the fact that the guy lived like a pig and kept his store looking like a sty, he had a glass case where he sold "headshop"-type products. I took pictures of the entire display and submitted them with the report. The MSC contacted me later and asked if I had any others that I hadn't attached. Apparently, the client was very interested in what I'd found.

Depends on the gas station brand. Most of them consider it paraphernalia but there are a couple that specifically outline what they consider appropriate versus inappropriate.

I have a small digital scale, I use it to measure the ingredients when I make my own supplements and make capsules so it's easier to swallow.

I know there are precious few uses for a gram level digital scale. Drug dealers and users do use them. But some of us who use small digital scales don't use them for illegal things.

I use them for weed but maybe someone needs to use it to weigh an envelope or something they're mailing.
If there's no other paraphernalia in the store I'd probably say no but if there's other things, then yes.

I still have my Starbucks shop scale! Remember when we used to weigh the drinks? Now I use it for shipping boxes. Remember the thermometers? I tried to use mine in the oven. Don't have that anymore.

In addition to making our own supplement capsules, some of us use them to weigh gemstones. Since five carats equals one gram, it helps to have a digital scale for to weigh stones that can be quite tiny.

Also, I have a European friend who still measure flour and other ingredients for cakes and pastries on a metric gram scale instead of by volume (in cups, teaspoons, pints, etc.) as Americans do.

I have a gram level scale for baking but I would never purchase it at a gas station. Which is why I think a lot of gas stations consider it Paraphernalia.

Ahhaaa, Yes... Mr. Patel keeps a healthy stock on hand because "Jewelers come in all the time to buy them to weigh gold on the streets." in addition to the impressive selection of glass rose crack pipes. and the balls of chore in a coffee cup by the POS.

IMHO, I do. Who is sitting at home and saying, "Hey, I'm running up to the local gas station to buy a scale so I can weigh out some flour to bake a cake?"

They are used as drug paraphernalia; The same way that innocuous glass tubes can be used.

The client considers them drug paraphrenalia, so must also condiser them as such.
