Retail Me Not Coupon Shop

Has anyone been assigned one of these? I have signed up a few times, but never been assigned one. There are two in my city for this weekend and I have applied and they are still sitting on the board. It seems like a decent "deal" if it is for a store that you need to make a purchase. This weekend is a sports store and I would like to be assigned to make a Christmas purchase.

I have been assigned several over the years. One was a big box store that was going out of business. They didn't take the coupon, so I was banned from ever doing the store again (this applies to any and all stores - if they don't take the coupon you can't ever shop it again). It was closed permanently a couple weeks later, so no big deal. Did a home decor shop that was a great bargain. Stocked up on a LOT of Christmas decorations and gifts and was only out-of-pocket about $10. I especially like the greeting card shops, too, as I like to get my cards there. And, of course, I've applied for lots of shops that I didn't get. It just seems to be the luck of the draw. Hope they come through for you and the store accepts the coupon!

If they don't take the coupon at store A then how come you can't apply or do the shops at store B? Even if Store A and Store B are two different stores and they sell different things?

If you were replying to me, I didn't say, or mean to imply, that what happened at Store A had anything to do with Store B. If Store A refused the coupon, you could never do this shop for Store A again. If Store B refused, you couldn't do the shop at Store B again. If the coupon was refused at ANY store, you couldn't do the shop at that particular store again.

They don't need to fill 100% of the locations. If you apply early enough and you have a good history with the MSC, you should get the shop.

I did one today. I applied this morning and was assigned a few minutes after I submitted the app. I got two great sweaters for less than $68. The store was 40% off everything plus the 15% off so I'm happy with that = $18 out of pocket....but I happen to buy their clothing as a regular customer anyway.

I might try another and force myself to get a gift instead of shopping for ME..always happens around the holidays because I detest shopping for personal use and malls in general, so when I see stuff around the holidays while I'm shopping for gifts, I end up getting stuff for me. At least it was a nice discount.

Yep, I've done them. Usually pretty simple.

I've done one and enjoyed doing it, plus got some great jeans and a few other items at great prices. There aren't many shopped stores near me, and I can't do the same store ever again, but I do keep my eyes open for them. Easy to do, too.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

I have done a few, and the coupon always worked.
