Question on all the $8 spend Visa debit card / cash shops

I'm glad to see you are having success with this program. I'm curious how you are handling the sit down restaurants you mention? Do you order the fries or drink, consume them, then pay for those with Debit, then order something else and pay for it with cash? Any tips on how to explain this to the server? And no tip to the server?

Thanks!

I order to go. So standing or sit around the cash out counter or near the front door table. I order a side of fries to go or a drink to go. I pay and take my fries or drink to my car, fill out of debit portion on the survey & then go back inside & order the same thing with cash.

If its a restuarnt that doesnt have a host stand or check out counter (servers strickly cashiers at their tables), i snap a picture of the whole restaurant inside for the "check out counter photo." If the restaurnt has no host stand or check out counter, but does have a bar area, i will take a picture of the kiosks area on or near the bar.

Does anyone know if you can filter these out of the presto app? I have done them in previous rounds but I am not interested and they are clogging up my map on presto. I don't know if you can filter them out.
Lord I wish they could be filtered out. They are ruining my map too.

One of the locations near me is the cafeteria in a hospital. It's funny because the guidelines tell you to take a photo of the exterior signage from your car. Well to do that I'd have to crash my car through the doors of the hospital lol. I guess you'd just take a photo of the hospital sign?
do you know the names of the shops you want to look for? In the search bar on the list of shops, not the map, put in one of the words of the shop title. There is also a search on the map, but I've never successfully searched for anything with it.

To remove these assignments from the map........

When you open the app click on "list" at the top of the page. The map will be replaced with a list of available assignments. In the "Filter results" box type in Small Business then click the "hide from results" box. All the small business assignments will no longer show up. Then click back on the map and the remaining assignments will show up.
Yoyo, Thank you! I was today years old when I learned this! It works that way on the laptop website as well.
How long is it taking you all to get reimbursed? I've had some waiting for over 10 days, and afraid to do many more as I don't want to be out the money for doing something wrong. As it is, I've taken back one I accidentally deleted and used my same info from a day before visit. Interested to see if that will be approved.

My last one took a week for payment. This was at the start of Feb.
Has anyone done a shop at a location that does not accept cash? I'm scheduled to do one later and I know for a fact the place is cashless. Would they still reimburse me for the first order? Am I expected to do two orders still? Will they find a reason to reject my shop if I didn't pay with cash?

Have shot an email off to them but they don't tend to be quick in responses...
I had one before. I only bought 1 with debit card.

It was the debit card, i think, that you will not get paid if you still do the shop and the location is only accepting cash. Imagine doing a nail salon shop, had a service done and assumed they accept debit card

They're strict on the rules. 2 purchases, cash and debit. Period. Don't do it. Just let it drop or you'll have wasted time and money for nothing. Choose doable locations instead.

Well, I guess we can't avoid them now. They are no longer listed as "small business." Now they show as the names of the businesses to be shopped. There's no way to filter them all out at once. So the only alternative is to filter In the exact projects you're looking for, one by one.
I love that they show the business now. It was so time consuming to go through each one to find out which business it was.

I have done several. I did not know they were cashless and no signage was up so I didn't know until after the debit purchase was made. I only made one purchase, not two. They were all accepted. After i was banned from this project (for appealing rejections that were wrong) someone went through soooooooooooo many of my shops that were paid and said some of them weren't acceptable (i didn't return the pay) and one of them was a cashless location.
It’s madness still. Guess we gotta ask all questions again.. before purchasing. Can I pay for this with debit card? how about cash? Can you print receipt for both? oh, and can you write in the item name - since the receipt doesn’t show what I bought?
can you fly a kite? how about machete juggling?
- lol good luck folks
I know they say only one purchase required for nail salons, but what about hair salons. Has anyone had a hair salon where haircuts were the only under-$20 option?
For hair salon products, 2 purchases are required. For hair salon services, only debit card.
I guess It depends on the editor. Some of them are as confuse as we are. A nail salon shop can be rejected if you only buy 1 product even though the guideline says only debit card for nail salon.
What if the location is a hair and nail combo? Do you purchase 1 or 2?
You should be able to if you use a desktop.
There is a box right next to the filter that says "exclude from results", not sure why this doesn't also show up on the app but you can always bring up the webiste version on your phone.
I’m so glad I read this thread. I signed up for a couple of shops then reached out to an editor to clarify how to complete the shop like a restaurant and a liquor store, considering those don’t have shelf tags. When no one got back with me, I decided to come and search for the topic here which I should’ve done first. You guys saved me money, and the headache of having to deal with these shops.
