Thanks, Girly. Do you know if you can use rewards for a free appetizer? I think I've got a free bloomin' onion for signing up last time.

Confirmed by scheduler, they changed it back to 40, thank goodness!

Has this been mentioned yet? In the TXRH dine in shop, the guidelines say stay 40 minutes, but the report says stay 60 minutes. Is this a new stay time?
Thanks! I had that question, too.

I was considering applying for the STK shop but even ordering the rock bottom price entree x2 and the cheapest wine, appetizer etc the total was over $280 plus I noticed my area one has a 10.5% service charge added to the bill. They now have a dinner special for two at $69 per person that includes all you are required to order basically but the scheduler told me we are not allowed to do that one. So I chose not to apply...just parking alone there will set me back the entire fee minimum. I have not checked the brunch prices yet.

I did a brunch shop at STK a few years ago. I couldn’t believe how expensive that place was, especially since it was so early in the day.

Quick question about TRH. You are supposed to call ahead to shop the hostess. Are they really gonna believe someone is making a lunch call-ahead in the middle of the week? Seems like a dead giveaway that you're a shopper. What has been the experience you've had in this regard?

YES, you still have to make the phone call. You don't have to let on that it was you that called though. You aren't required to sign up for the call ahead thing, you just have to make sure the host is doing their job.
I wish TRH would allow more people. I understand they're attempting to limit this to families and not a whole work party or whatever, but the limit is 5. I've got 4 kids and a wife, so that puts us out now sad smiley I still do the occasional one, but it's pretty rare anymore, and I used to shop probably a dozen times a year. I also remember when no one picked up the TRH shops. Now they go really quickly. Haha

Also - we just got an Outback by us, guess I'll have to find who shops them! Anyone let me know if they're on Sassie or another platform so I can look around?

I wonder if it was just a revert to the previous form. For years you had to stay 60 minutes, it's probably only been in the last 2 or 3 years they reduced that time.

TRH changed their guidelines to a maximum of four people several months ago, unless different areas have different rules.
Yes, Sassie.

Oh, I didn't realize that. Even worse! Haha. Oh, well.

I know you had to make a call but I thought you had to actually sign up.

I have done several TRH shops and either my wife and I would call and we would put on names on the list. But I know a-lot of people do the call ahead seating and they put their names on the list
I thought you had to put your name on the list too, unless the host says that there’s no wait.

A week ago, I used the gift card from my first BJ's shop to pay for the order in my second shop. Feels like a Ponzi scheme.

I did this for O'Charleys. Was nice. Every so many shops, I got free entrees and appetizers for two.

Can someone give an overview of the Outback shop? One just popped up in my area - $5 pay, $75 reimbursement. But I can't see the full guidelines unless I sign up for it (pet peeve!).

It's not too terribly bad, but longer and a little more detailed than Roadhouse and BJ's. It does ask for some specific timings (how much time elapsed between when you ordered X and when it was delivered), and it requires photos of all the food and drinks. Order requirements are 2 beverages (water doesn't count), 1 appetizer, and 2 entrees (one must be a steak.) You can use the AARP 10% discount, and if you're in their rewards club, you can use any rewards. Joining the rewards club will get you a free Bloomin' Onion on your next visit. We used that freebie and the AARP discount, and I ordered a less-expensive entree and was able to come in under the reimbursement for the entire bill. I'm not enamored with the food, but my mother loves it, so I do it to take her out to eat.

Thank you for the heads up! I didn’t know any other MSC’s had this shop before.
The ordering requirements are slightly different, but it is essentially the same shop. It seems that the big company is likely doing these as a test shop to try and get this client. The reimbursement is very fair for the amount of work involved.
I just checked my notes, and the one I did previously was for a different company. Oops!

A different MSC came out with these shops this morning. As best I can tell, they are identical to the original ones.

Two people required, a drink that's not water, and appetizer, two entrees one must be steak. Must tip 20%. Can order other things but Max reimbursement is 75. Requires photo of the exterior and photo of your entrees, appetizer, dessert if ordered and I believe beverage.
These are the requirements for the old company. The new company is different.

I was going to answer the questions that are simply answered in the guidelines. But one of the things we agree to when we join this forum is to not post the guidelines for shops. So assign yourself the shop, read the guidelines, and if you don't like it, let it go back on the board.

see how simple that is?

Old company still has the outback shops. I'm doing one this weekend.
The MSC's must cover different shops in different markets. It's only the new one by me for Outback.

I call and put my name on the list. Then before we leave the house, or before we check in, I just cancel on the text message confirmation. I then check in like a regular walk in customer.
Interesting. We always call and put our names down, just as if we were regular customers.
Alright, somebody save me from having to contact The Nikster about this. I've never done one of the BJ's takeout shops; the guidelines as of February 1st state, "YOU CAN USE THE REWARDS PROGRAM ON THIS SHOP," but yet the shop form says, "You may not use coupons or any other discounts." If I sign up for the rewards program and earn the free pizookie, does that count as a reward, or is it a discount that's not allowed?

Argh.
