I just checked and it doesn't look like they have posted for 2024 yet. Keep checking because in my area they are usually started later in the month. It depends on when last year's shops got finished up.
They have to determine how much they are going to reduce the fee by first.
All kidding aside, with the way this station has been hawking their app over the last year/ two years, I am guessing that they are changing this program around, possibly to be similar to the orange shopmetrics station.

They just had one of the locations kick back onto the board in another state (way too far from me) a couple of days ago with a $100 shop fee. I thought it was the new round going out, but I noticed it said 2023. So, my guess is they are still finishing up those reports.
They posted 2024 today. There are a few changes and the guidelines DO NOT match the report. Kinda odd.

Guidelines practically looked like EM with Valero imagery. I'm not picking one up yet, so is the report like we're used to with the program?
I did a few this morning the report is the same as always, they have a few new questions about using Valero Pay, and how many pumps are out of order. But the guidelines tell you a canopy and forecourt are now required photos. However, there is no place to put these photos. The guidelines also do not mention the left, right and building photos as required photos, but they are still in the report. Who knows they may be going to change the report and have just not done so yet.
I had read the guidelines but not accepted a shop yet and the lack of left and right were the first things I noticed. So, is this the way all shops from this MSC are going to be released? Half-assed? Sure looks like it.
Yes and the guidelines are now 3 pages with no examples of the photos they want. It took them longer to release them so maybe they are revamping the report. I wish they would get rid of the verbatim questions. Also, the way they ask if you were able to make a purchase using Valero Pay makes me wonder if I am supposed to try that. I have not, I pay cash inside I don't need my account being hit 20 times in a day for $1 or less
I looked at the report before doing the ones I took. It asks if you were able to use the app for the instore purchase and then has (required) next to it. I downloaded the app but was not happy about it.

I don't use those pay apps, not the ones for the stores, and certainly not cashapp or venmo. I don't use Google Pay at all, and only use Paypal for getting paid and buying a few things online. they have saved me from getting ripped off several times.

At some of the stations they ask if you used a pay app, or if the store has the ability to accept pay apps or digital wallets. But the only shops I've seen that require you to use the pay app if it's available is the Gulf stations.
I did several Valeros this weekend and they have new editors who don't seem to understand the job. One told me I needed to resubmit with the right side picture showing the entire right side of the building and canopy as well as the parking lot. The picture I submitted showed ALL OF THIS plus there is a wall so I can only go so far over for the photo, the wall is visible in the photos. I responded I did not understand what she was missing in the photo and got no response. However, this station is not far from my office so I stopped by and took about 5 different photos of the right side (all pretty much the same) at different spots along the wall. Maybe one will satisfy them.

Another few emails told me that unless the diesel pump is separate I do not need to take a picture. Technically the old guidelines do say that however for the past 6 years I have been doing these jobs they want the diesel pump no matter how it is and you will be contacted to supply one. I will still add it just to CYA.
Ugh. I appreciate the heads up on the new editors. At base, absolutely no way these are worth it until the editors have figured out the process and guidelines. I will wait!

I am feeling less inclined to take them too. I usually do several routes of these but I am just not feeling like I want to right now. Out of 11, I got weird comments on about 6 of them only 1 was a legit photo that was incorrect. Also, they have them only out until the 17th. How are we supposed to plan anything when they won't put a decent time frame on them? It is bad enough they only post them for a week but this time it was the 10th through the 17th and it has not changed. I'm sorry but I am not going out in the dark in the below freezing temps to do these after work. I think they are going to be in the same spot they were in December and begging people to do them at the end.
Wow! Thanks for the update, even though I wish the news could be better.
I'll be waiting these out!

I know. I still get mad every time I take that extra photo of the gas/diesel pump just to placate the ego of one or two editors. They started asking for it after the new MSC. I explained to them I was explicitly told in the past not to take that photo. But they kept kicking back reports so I just gave in. Good to hear someone is finally setting that right. (But I will still take the photo to be safe.)

I still get mad every time I take that extra photo. It is so obviously not needed or wanted by the client. It's just one or two new editors who are never wrong

yes back in the Maritz days they wanted the diesel pump no matter what and the new company never said anything so I still attached it. I am not going to change now because as soon as I do they will ask for it from a station that is 200 miles away. I just wonder about the new guidelines they attached. Should I start taking the extra pictures on their (Canopy and forecourt) or not? Maybe I will just to CYA.
Just wondering if the people who said they were not using Valero Pay inside have continued not to use it without any issue?

where the local Valeros are notorious for not putting receipt paper in the pump, forcing me to always ask for a receipt.

Same here. They are the absolute worst with that here as well.
I am wondering about the question in the report about Valero Pay and since there are no current guidelines I can't find the answer. Are they asking if they offer it or did you use it? I have not used it so I say no. I had a lot of very picky editors last weekend and it was a bit annoying. In the past they have always wanted the diesel pump even if it was part of the regular pump, now they return it for you to delete. They never wanted photos of the ID signs that were on the canopy only the pole. Now they are returning them for those signs as well, luckily I usually have them. If they sell diesel separately but it is not branded Valero do they want a picture of those pumps? No one would answer this question for me so I added them along with a note. I would just like some guidance because it is getting a bit frustrating.
Is there a project manager you guys could email? If they get tired of everybody emailing questions/problems maybe that would be an inspiration for them to clarify instructions and educate editors.
No they won't assign one until almost the end of the quarter.

I got an odd email saying we are not accepting this shop because the left and the overall photo are the same. I responded I would be happy to correct the photos because this location has an odd layout and it is hard to get a good left photo. Then a few days later another email arrived that the shop was accepted. I don't know what is going on over there but typically they return the shop for you to fix the error not just deny it outright and then another editor accepts it.
Maybe if everyone floods the general email they might realize there are issues? Just an idea.
