Panda Express Question

I am schedule for a PE soon and I am wondering if I am allowed to get the same entrees on the plate

Can I get like the Chow Mein (Side Item) with two orders of the same Entrées (Like the Orange chicken) or does it have to be like the Chow Mein with one Orange Chicken and the Shrimp..

Yes I know the shrimp will be extra but I did not see anywhere in the guidelines that says we can not get Premium items or that we can not get the same entree

I know we can not get any drinks or use coupons

It's OK to order premium items (I've done it) and the guidelines are silent regarding getting two of the same items on a plate. I would not do the latter, though.
I agree with BusyBee. Many items are premium and are on the list of items in shop directions so I would not hesitate to order them. As for 2 of the same item I would not do that as I think they want to see different entrees on the plate.
Why don't you just get the bowl with one entree and stay within the reimbursement?
I have almost always ordered the plate with one side and double of the same entree. No issues.

Doing assignments since the days when reports were handwritten and faxed to the MSC.
The last time I got a bowl, it did not fill me up.. With a plate, if I have any left overs I can take home. After I stay the 10 minutes and took the require pictures.

I have always gotten the bowl with orange chicken but I wanted to try something different this time smiling smiley

I know sometimes the guidelines don't list everything but if we can't get the same entree then they should say something..

I also know people have had issues with Sonic's shops and shakes..

If I get the plate, I will be about .40 cents over ..

I'm pretty sure I ordered double of the same entree before, but it's been a while. Possibly it was with the old MSC even. Lately I have been ordering honey sesame chicken alongside the orange chicken.
There is nothing anywhere that says a plate must have two different items, and they are pretty specific about averything else. I would not hesitate to do it.
I get the same entree two times all the time. If they do not say you cannot, how are you supposed to know it is not allowed.? They need to specify something is not allowed like they do with the drink or the coupons.
I do it all the time. The healthiest order is Super Greens and Grilled Teriyaki Chicken .
I get a double order of Sesame Seed Chicken. Never had a problem.
I found an old PE ticket from 2021 (The last time I did a shop) on my computer. The only thing that it showed was my bowl and the items that I wanted in my bowl.. It did not show the cup of water that I asked the cashier for,

This was before they changed the guidelines to say that you can not order any drinks.. I believe they changed late last year (2023)

In 2023 I went with my mom to PE (On a non shop) and we both got a different bowl. When we got to the cashier, we told her we wanted water to drink ( this was before we sat at the table). She gave us a water cup but she did not put it on the ticket. It just showed us the bowl and the items that we ordered for the bowl. 95 % of the the time when I go out to eat, I get water unless the MSC requires us to get a drink (other than alcohol) then I will get tea.

I know we can not get any drinks.. I can always sit down, take the require pictures and then go back to the register and get my water cup.

But I agree with HB.. If they are specific about drinks and coupons then they should be specific about the food options

Sorry to go a little off topic but my main concern was about what I can or can not get on the bowl since it did not mentioned my question in the guidelines

That sounds good.. I am trying to eat healthy ..

So if everyone has done it, it should not be a problem smiling smiley But it would have been nice if they had mention this in the guidelines.

Glad that I asked here .. Thanks for all the help ..

I nearly always order double orange chicken for a plate. Sometime half and half on the side item, sometimes not. A water cup may or may not appear on the receipt but it's never been a problem when it did.
I have had the orange chicken before and it is good

But since they have changed the guidelines about the drink, they may frown on it even though it says water
I would just walk up and ask for water afterwards to be on the safe side. These places are tiny. It is just a few steps to the register area. Locations near me have a serve yourself drink bar on the side so all you need is a cup and get your own water. Or just bring your reusable water bottle or cup and save the earth from one more cup.
There is a DQ where I go on Tuesday's sometimes for Taco Tuesday. When I went one time, I got water and they charged me .20 cents.

Since then I have taken my own bottle water with me to DQ (if I go on Tuesday's) and they have not said anything ..

That is usually what I get too.
I would get supergreens all of the time but the Panda I usually end up getting at the end of the round doesn't cook the greens. I've gotten them cold and raw out of the pan on the steam tray the last 3 times I've shopped there. Maybe I'll try again next time, or when I get to go to a different Panda.

my go to meal is a bowl with fried rice (because of the super greens issue) and kung pao chicken.

At the PE closest to my home, they charge 25 cents for a water cup.
at my PE they do not charge for water.. But we have a Dairy Queen here and they charge .25 cents for water

I guess all PE are different
My water cup often appears in the photo and has never been an issue.

You are misinterpreting the guidelines. You cannot PURCHASE a beverage. Asking for a water cup while at the register is a normal and allowable behavior.

I usually get the same items. There has never been an issue. They are looking for freshness and quantity.
If it's dine-in I'm a Chili Crisp Shrimp guy as long as it's available. Peking Beef if there's no shrimp.

String Bean Chicken is usually my go-to for carry-out as the shrimp and beef do not travel well.

I usually do a bowl with chow mien unless I'm doing two dine-ins a day, or multiple online order pickups, then one of them will be with the veggies.
