Apartment job- target no longer works there..Pay for the time put in?

I have an appt job with a specific target who no longer works there, I discovered after numberous days of recorded calls, and emailing with scheduler who finally says to ask for the target. Time and effort put in, and now waiting to hear back from scheduler whether I can do the tour with another agent. If a tour with another agent is not allowed, what would be a good compensation for the time spent? Anyone dealt with this?

I would never do any apartment shops where you have a target. Too many times the apartment complex has a central person you have to talk to first, like a secretary. You never reach the target.
I add $10 to $20 for any apt. shop with a target. As MSCs today are paying less than 19 yrs. ago, I have not completed one since 12/22, when I had four at $100 each. I noticed today that seven flew off an MSC's board at $35 and even included a recorded phone call, which can be a PITA.

To directly answer your query, it is my opinion they will not pay you anything.
You may be offered $5 for the phone calls, which is the base pay for some apt phone shops. Let us know what happens.
I hope that you actually get paid more than $0.00, but don't get your hopes up.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
I have done many apartment shops for one company and they pay a big whopping $5 if the target doesn't work there anymore. I have found this happens more and more, bad intel. If that trend continues, I will look elsewhere.

If it’s the MSC that has the chapters long report and goes by 4 letters…they pay 5 bucks. It’s outrageous
I did one last summer for a senior living place, and I was supposed to recorded call to set up a visit (and then visit) and if the target wasnt there, hang up, then on the third or fourth call ask for the agent by name, and then they told me she didnt work there. Contacted the company, they took forever to get back to me, then said to try another agent (specific target), and the same thing. They wanted me to try a third, and I (honestly) said, "I won't have time next week to do a visit (school was starting - I'm a teacher) so I can't do anything more with this shop" and they gave me nothing. Then had the audacity two months later to call me and see if I'd do the SAME shop.

One of my favorite MS companies does targeted shops differently. They get from the client a list of staff names for the location and the exact dates and times they are scheduled to be in the office the week of the shop, lunch hours for staff and a phone number for the target employee. So there are no telephone games, no hours spent trying to psych out whether someone is going to be in the office at noon, making call after call after call, trying to remember to place each call on different days, etc., only to find that the target left the company three months ago...
Just to update...the scheduler allowed a different target, one who actually works there, and I completed the job. Another twist is I made my appointment with the new target, and when I arrived, she was not in that day. So, I proceeded with the person who was in. I put it all in my report and got paid. It was a nice bonused job, and was happy it all worked out.
