5 Guys price up again- ugh

Had a shop today and the prices have risen again. Almost makes me think no worth doing as the fee eaten into with the higher charges- food no better and the report is the pits. All those questions. Are the people happy working there? Who the heck wants to work at 5 Guys if they did not have to? and having to put in that transaction sequence of all mixed up letters and number why? The receipt is being attached. Simply a stupid form.

I will agree the transaction sequence number is such a lame entry. they have all the details, plus the receipt. I could see where they would accept the transaction sequence number in place of a picture of the receipt. Why anyone would have the # and not a receipt is beyond me...but maybe the register ran out of ink or they ran out of printer paper and could at least tell you that info.

The report isn't that terrible. Yes, the "happiness" is a rather subjective question. most of the time i put they are happy. i have mentioned a few times there was no emotion shown (not positive or negative). how much happiness can 1 person have if they are focused on your order?

Back when all the employees were wearing masks and reports would ask if they were happy or smiling, I would just enter the words "wearing face mask" lol.

Just did my first one after being reinstated by the MSC after 25 years (!)

However I'm not finding where to see the shop's status on the website.

Any tips?

Have synthesizers, will travel...

Once you submit you will get a confirmation number. Then you can go to my shops at the top of the page- then click on assignment status. it should show the status of the report- in QC or accepted. The last 2 I did were accepted immediately without any editing. which I found quite amazing! A few weeks ago I did one which took 3 days to get out of QC- so there is not real consistency as to how fast shops are approved from my experience.

I think they are approved immediately if there are no issues at all. If anything is marked down, the report has to go through quality control.

I don't usually do the shops with milkshakes, but saw one for an online order and thought my 3 year old would enjoy the milkshake so I snagged it. I looked at the menu and the milkshake costs $6.29 but they will only reimburse $5.50. Ugh. I understand that the typical reimbursement covers the most basic food item such as a hotdog but seriously if I have to order a milkshake as a requirement then the reimbursement should be $6.50 to cover the actual cost.

The problem with 5G is that the pricing isn't consistent. I can go to the one that is almost directly East of me and get a little hamburger, little fries, and a drink for right around $12. Or I can go into the city North of me and pay an extra $6 - $7 for the exact same thing. Each location determines their own prices and those prices are ALWAYS higher than the next nearest not-so-fast-food burger joint.

I believe the franchisees get to set their own prices. But I also believe the franchise sets certain guidelines.

Lol where do you live? I've lived in and shopped Five Guys in at least 4 different states over the past 7 years and never paid less than $17 for a shop.

The last time I went to 5G was in Decatur,AL. The reimbursement had been at $14 something for a while, and I got a little burger, little fries, and a fountain drink for $11.52. They are the BEST 5G in this area, they are always busy, and the food is ALWAYS hot and fresh when you get it. Their prices are lower than most other 5G stores, but the service is better, and the food is better than ALL of the others.

I used to shop in Montgomery AL and prices were not that low. I've never been to Decatur though.

It's been a couple years now since I've shopped a 5Gs. I haven't done much work for that MSC since they stopped accepting my MAO.

The MS company should negotiate reimbursement based on the actual price the shopper pays for the required order, rather than a set fee. If that means restricting us to little burgers, hot dogs, veggie bowls, and BLTs, so be it. Here it costs over $21 trying for a little cheeseburger meal, with a mere $17.50 reimbursement.

I hear you but I don't like the rest of the menu enough to get anything other than a burger, which is in theory at least, their main item. I'd skip the whole 5G thing rather than order food I don't want. Just me, though.

The price depends on location. Today I bought a small burger, a small fry, and a LARGE drink. With NJ Sales Tax (6.625%) tax, it came to $17.24 so I essentially maxed out the reimbursement (I try to do that since I get rebates on my CC). However, the required milkshake cost me $6.60 with tax and the maximum reimbursement was $5.50 so the extra $1.10 ate into my bonus. I am going to have to remember to ask for an additional $1 when I am required to order a milkshake (which I don't really want anyway).
