Potted Plants

My usual grocery store is being shopped right now for a report on potted plants.
I have to go there anyway, but wondering if this is a pain in the butt shop to do? anyone here do this?
The pay is low, so I thought I'd ask first. Thanks.

Hard pass. I have done a few but only when I knew for sure there were no plants. If you get there and there are no plants, take it. Then you need to just take pics of maybe the fresh flower area to show there are no plants. You will actually have to take pics as if there is at least one plant or it won't let you submit it.

I have done some at Walmart when there were only one or two types of plants or when the plants were in disposable pots. They are not interested in those.

they also go up in fee pretty quickly.
I love these shops when the pay isn't insulting I refuse to input information for 20 plus plants for $8. No please.

I completed a couple of these assignments several months ago, once the fee had gone up. Sadly, the increase was not enough to compensate for everything involved, as the sites I visited had many pots. I would follow Datagirl's lead and do them only when you know there are just a couple of pots or when the fee goes up significantly.
Bare, if you're going to be there anyway, wait until the pay goes up to $30 or $40. Because it does regularly.. No good reason in my mind to deal with that type of frustration for less.
yes, it is a pain in the butt if they have more than a few plants. (i say 5 would be about the top number i'd do.) I've done them at a very large member store where there are few plants, and at drugstore where there were even fewer plants! No way will I do a grocery store or god forbid, a home improvement store.
This is embarrassing to admit, but I can't seem to pass the certification tests for these. I take it as a sign that these shops aren't right for me. smiling smiley
In my area, they have one for a location that doesn't exist. It's supposed to be at a prominent supermarket chain. Go to that exact address and it's a head shop.

Maybe instead of potted plants, they want planted pot.

The supermarket indicated is on the other side of town. Unfortunately there's no closed location fee on these shops.

I walked into a Lowes once just to assess. I took a look, said nope, no fee could make me do that. Hundreds of pots, all different sizes and shapes. The organization alone would be insane. No way.

Two weeks after Christmas, Walmart had one decrepent, half dead tree on clearance. That one I did and for a nice fee.
I've gotten in to a bit of a rhythm with these. I don't do them for less than $20. Drug stores are the best, as they have 3 or less plants (often none). Those will take you 20 minutes, including report entry. There is a German grocery store chain that is shopped, and they usually don't have any plants (only cut flowers). You can knock those out in 10 minutes - go in and take pictures of the flowers and submit those as "item 1" and explain in the notes that no potted plants or pots were present. Warehouse stores usually have 5 or less potted plants, so with report entry time maybe its 30 minutes. Grocery stores have 6-8 potted plants and they take about 35 minutes. Once you do a couple, the pics are really easy (take lots of the general area and just crop them down t the shelves and price tags you need, thats my best tip). And while its not a required pic, I take a pic of the plant tags as that is where the distributor is usually listed so it makes it faster to input the survey later.
Well I see they have posted a new round of these - at $5. Good grief, thats beyond ridiculous. Same amount of work, now at $5. They'll bonus them, and quickly, but now starting out $5 lower. Eeek!

I saw them at $5 last night and rolled my eyes and went back to bed. Woke up this morning and and every single one of them are gone. What's one mans trash is another mans treasure.
They got a new MSC (I think), and the new MSC is starting out the potted plant shops at half the beginning rate from before. I still haven't done any of these, decorating and flowers are not my thing. I plant marigolds in my vegetable garden to attract bees and keep away harmful pests, and sunflowers for black oil sunflower seeds for my chickens. That's what I know about flowers. And I don't decorate with potted plants, most of which are poisonous or harmful in some way to my animals.
@JSuing and @Cassiespark When I saw $5 I was flummoxed!
