I think metro means the post office shops, not your supply of condoms. grinning smiley

The MSC used to mail the empty dimensional weight boxes..remember that??? Huge stacks of boxes piled up waiting to be mailed. Then the Naked company had them for several years, then I think they went back to the defunct company. I think the Naked company sublet them to the defunct MSC and took them back..then the current MSC got them. I will miss doing them. I had them down pat..easy reports

Edited to remove the name of the previous MSC.

OK. Are people assuming the MSC lost the contract because all the shops disappeared or has there been an official announcement that the program ended?

I thought we weren't allowed to even name past MSC & clients in a thread.... did I read that rule wrong?
Have they ever made an official statement about any project ending? Just curious, I don't recall seeing any such communication from this MSC.

Even the hazmat jobs are gone?

Good question.

The rule states: "Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies."

It does not mention past clients or past MSCs. For me, I try not to name past clients or past MSCs, and definitely not a past MSC that merged with the current MSC that has that client.

Prior to current MSC, **** did such shops.
True, but I believe that this giant company that just had the project had subcontracted it to ****. So although it was finally showing up for the shoppers at the current MSC, they’ve really had it for at least a decade.

I remember doing DimWit (I think Nikki coined this term) shops for the former MSC (now defunct MSC) and at the current MSC when Nikki was the scheduler for them. some of those box dimensions were tough to find, I made my own boxes out of old amazon boxes a few times. Nikki also convinced me to try the HazMat shops that I soon discovered were too much trouble. I just bought a new box of boxes last month, fortunately they are still in the return window, so I can get my money back. I'll buy them again if the program gets revamped and I still want to do them.

When I worked for a large company that scanned endcaps back in the 90s', I had a regular route of post offices.

Hi Shoppers: So as not to violate Posting Guidelines, if you would kindly edit and remove any mention of MSCs in this thread, it would be appreciated. Our preference would be to not remove each post in violation, but we will if need be, in a few days. Posting Guidelines are "Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies". There is no distinction made between past and present. Also, if we want to discuss a client, in this case, USPS, this is the correct section of the forum. If we want to discuss MSCs, the Mystery Shopping Company Discussion would be the correct section.

Thank you.
I remember USPS shops without limits on dimensions and weights. I mailed ones huge box with heater inside for my daughter.

It was time when some MSC was offering kind of research when we need to mail envelopes for week days during two weeks period from home zip code to other locations around the entire country. The stopped such project sometime BC.

Oh yes, I did the two week mailing envelope ones too. So easy, as long as you were around for two weeks. I forgot about them..wish some of these easy shops would return.

I actually had some of those dim weight boxes left over after they stopped doing them. I finally cut them down a bit to fit the recent sizes and used them. That was back in the day when the reimbursement still covered the mailing fees and also the boxes. Them thar were the good ole days when i could not only afford to mail to zone 8 but also buy a box!
But condoms! what a hoot. Service Award you just outed yourself as a male shopper with that story. I imagine very few women would think to blurt that out especially if it were not the truth.
I hope they are back. The thrift stores are waiting for new boxes.
This is terrible news. I was going to fund my Alaskan cruise by mailing stuff from Juneau and Sitka.

Doubt that. The biggest bonus I had mailing from AK was $25.
I started doing the PO shops back in the very early 2000s. Back then, the company would mail the boxes and the paperwork to shoppers. The company's name rhymed with ferrets (they got absorbed by the very large research company who has the shops now), and after "ferrets", the contract was out with another company that has a name that rhymes with care (we had to buy the boxes to do the shops during that timeframe). I think I remember someone saying that the big market research company always had the contract but subbed it out to the other two companies. IDK.

I noticed that there were no shops on the board for this quarter. Hoping that it's not the end of it, but honestly, the post office loses so much money each year I haven't understood for the longest time why they still have a mystery shopping program that apparently doesn't work well enough to warrant the expense.
I liked the hazmat shops back when you got reimbursement for a full book of stamps, not up to $2 worth of stamps. I do still have stamps from way back when, though. I don't find them too much trouble at all.
I think they will be back. The person still have such shop listed in her responcibilities and tests still set onmonthe board of tests.
